A/N: Hi guys… sorry for the straight forwardness of this chapter but this is the only way I could get it started. LOL well thanks for taking the time to read this… also I would like to dedicate this to one of my best friends because she actually helped me write some of this so thank you thank you thank you Katie. Love you girl.

I saw him in my dream that night. I didn’t know him, but he seemed to know me. He kept calling out my name, beaming like he had found me after several hours of searching. Just as he got close enough for me to see what he looked like, my alarm clock went off. “Stupid alarm clock,” I screeched as I threw it across the room. “Courtney! Time to get up for school,” my mother yelled from the kitchen. “Mooommm,” I groaned, “Five more minutes, please.” “Courtney Nicole Jordan! Get your butt down here now!” Uh oh… she used my full name. She never uses my full name, unless she’s introducing me to some of my dad’s work friends. “Fine… okay. I’m coming,” I yelled back. “Good. Oh and I made breakfast,” my mom said thoughtfully. I shoved breakfast down my throat and ran upstairs to get ready. I took a shower and found something to wear. I looked out my window. The house next to ours was always quiet and the room that faced mine had the blinds shut all the time… until today. I saw something moving, maybe a person, but I was in too much of a hurry to look and find out what was moving inside the room. I glanced at my clock. “Oh crap,” I said under my breath. I rushed down the stairs. “Bye mom! I gotta go or I’m gonna be late,” I yelled as I was running out

the door.

Harbor Valley High School isn’t at all like Archer Academy for the Arts. For one, it definitely isn’t an all girl’s school. And two, everyone was in jeans. Why is everyone wearing jeans? I have no idea. I slowly looked down to see what I was wearing, and sighed in relief when I saw I was wearing jeans as well. I ran to the office to get my schedule. This is why I hate moving in the middle of the year. Finding everything is always so confusing, but I didn’t dare ask for directions. She wasn’t paying attention to me anyway. I didn’t have time to go to my locker so I just went to my first hour class. That’s where I met Kate and Sophie. I met Chloe in my chemistry class, fourth hour. I ended up spending most of the day with them because we had nearly all of our classes together. I’m happy I made so many friends, considering it’s the middle of the year, but I ended up not understanding the homework… it was some hard stuff.

I saw him again… in another dream. He was running towards me with an evil and mischievous glint in his eyes. And to be honest, it scared me a bit. I started running away from him, but, eventually, he caught up to me and forcefully turned me around. I saw a flash of emerald green eyes and a glimpse of shaggy brown hair. Then came the alarm clock… again. Instead of screaming at the clock like last time, I got up and did my normal morning routine and grabbed a piece of toast on my way out the door.

Another boring day of art class was upon us, but lucky for me my 3 friends shared my pain and hatred for this class. Thankfully our teacher, Mr. Jones, was willing to

let us watch a movie. Toward the middle of the movie, a bright light suddenly appeared from the doorway. Obviously, Mr. Jones knew who it was and said, “Ah… Mr. Parker. Thank you for joining us today.” “It’s my pleasure, Mr. Jones,” he replied cockily. I automatically labeled him as a jerk, player, bad boy, and an ass. I turned to my friends and asked them if they knew who he was. Chloe was the only one who answered me, “His name is Bryce Parker. He’s the schools bad boy. And the biggest player EVER! I advise you stay away from him Courtney,” she said coldly. “Ahhh… don’t listen to her Courtney. Bryce may be an ass but he is HOT STUFF!!!” Kate told me excitedly. “Don’t ever say I didn’t warn you Courtney Jordan,” Chloe replied frostily. He immediately sat behind us and the girls just stopped talking about it. As the movie ended and the bell rung, I turned around to see what he looked like, but he was gone. I sighed in disappointment as I walked to chemistry with Chloe. We sat down at our seats and started talking about random school stuff. She looked back at the clock and turned back around with a disgusted look on her face. “What’s wrong with you,” I asked. “Bryce. Friggin. Parker.” she spat back. God… she didn’t have to be so rude about it. I turned around to look at him and I gasped in shock… Now it was her turn to ask what my problem was. “I know him,” I managed to choke out, “I don’t know how, but I just do.” I was stunned. There were so many things running through my head; so many questions. Suddenly, he turned around and said something, but I didn’t hear it… I was frozen under the gaze of his sparkling green eyes. “Hey! Are you okay,” he asked worriedly. “Huh? Yeah… Sorry I was just thinking.” “Uh huh… okay. Well, are you going to answer my question,” he asked expectantly. “Sure… I guess. What was it?” “I asked you what your name was, genius.” “Oh, well I’m Courtney and that’s…” I trailed off pointing to the empty seat that Chloe was sitting in five seconds ago, “… well was, Chloe.” “I know Chloe,” he shot back at me. I wondered how he knew Chloe, and I wanted to know why they hated each other so much. “So Courtney, I see that we’re going to be lab partners,” he said with a smirk on his face. “What?! No… I’m supposed to be partners with Chloe,” I groaned. “You know, you’re cute when you’re frustrated.” I immediately flushed tomato red. “What? Had I heard him correctly?” “Did he just call me cute?” “Was he flirting?” “Duh… of course he was… he’s the biggest player on campus… he’s probably dated almost every girl in the school.” I said this all in my head, so nobody heard it but me. “And you, my friend, are a flirt.” I said viciously. “Feisty… I like.” Ugh what an ass. “You know what? I’m gonna go talk to the teacher about this partner thing,” I concluded. “Aw, don’t go,” he pouted. “And why not?” I challenged. “Because, you… I… I mean… I…IkindasortathinkIlikeyouandIwanttogettoknowyoubetter…” “Okay, please repeat that, but like 20 times slower.” I said impatiently. “Uh… uh… well… I gotta go… Bye Courtney… See ya in art!” he said hastily and he dashed off. God what is with people today… everybody’s on edge. I wondered why. All this snapping that people were doing was starting to get on my nerves.

I stopped having dreams about him. At first, I was kind of relieved that he wasn’t there giving me whiplash with his sudden mood changes. But then, I started to sorta miss seeing him, both in my dreams and at school. He wouldn’t talk to me in classes and he even asked our chemistry teacher if he could switch lab partners. Every day in school I would replay that moment in my head of our first day when he said he was my lab partner. I silently vowed to myself that I would find out what he said and why he wouldn’t repeat it to me. I heard bits and pieces of what he said but I could never really make them into words or even an idea of what he said. To be honest, I was kind of frightened at what might be in store when we talk again. I guess only time will tell. I gave one last look into the window next to mine, and for just a single instant I thought I saw a pair of green eyes pierce intensely back into mine.

A/N: Hehe…cliff hanger… if you’re reading this authors note, thank you. Also I know that this chapter is kinda weird and straight forward and don’t worry… I will give some of Bryce’s point of view but I think we should get Courtney’s story before we move onto Bryce. Uhhhh well please don’t be a silent reader… I appreciate any feedback that you guys will give me because honestly, I suck at writing stuff, just warning ya. I just thought I would give writing a story a try… tell me if you like it or if you don’t. If you guys have any comments or ideas that you would like to tell me about just PM me and I’ll probably respond back to it in 3 days max unless my mom takes my phone/computer/nook away. If she does I’ll tell you guys and put the book on hold so you’ll know I can’t work on it. Sorry for the super long author’s note. I don’t mean to ramble like this… well thank you

again my lovelies. XOXOXO, Taylor
