"I love you." Brock managed to get out through heavy gasps and grunts as he kept up his pace as he thrusted into Brian.

Brian keened under him, Brock kept hitting just the right spot and now with those three words uttered between them in the hot, humid air, he felt praised. Brian tried to say it back but a multitude of things obstructed him, like his strained moans and being out of breath. There was something else too, but he didn't want to think about it.

Brian's legs tightened around Brock's waist and he dug his nails in Brock's back as he felt his orgasm rolling through him in waves. Brock came too, deep inside is lover. Brock pulled out slowly and Brian hissed, feeling sore already. Brock plucked tissues from the box on the nightstand and as he wiped them both down, Brian couldn't help to feel a pang in his chest.

"No you don't." Brian broke the silence as he kept staring at the ring on Brock's left hand.

Brock raised an eyebrow and chucked the tissues in a nearby trash bin. "I don't what?" He asked as he settled back down in the bed.

"You don't love me."

Brock frowned, "What makes you say that? Of course I-"

"No you don't Brock!" Brian interrupted Brock. Brian sat up and harshly grabbed Brock's left hand and pointed at his ring finger. "This is enough proof anyway..." He trailed off.

Brian let go of Brock's hand and shaking his head, he got out of bed. Quickly putting on his clothes, not minding that he had already used them, Brian left the bedroom leaving Brock sputtering and scrambling for his clothes.

Brian had just reached the bottom of the stairs when Brock suddenly grabbed at his elbow, somehow already dressed. "What do you want?" Brian hissed through clenched teeth.

"How dare you accuse me of not loving you?! Do you know the risks I'm taking for you? I'm cheating on my wife for God's sake." He scoffed, as if stating the obvious.

"That is something you brought upon yourself. You had plenty of time to call off the marriage and break up with her and you still didn't. We wouldn't be in this position if you had done that." Brian breathed in shakily and cleared his throat before continuing, "You don't love me, you didn't even consider breaking up with her."

"I love you. I really do..." He paused, but clearly wanted to keep speaking.

"But what?" Brian urged, having a feeling that Brock was going to object, just how he always did when it came to him.

Brock breathed in before confessing, "I just need something stable. Something that I know won't go wrong. Something that I can fall on in case something goes wrong."

"So you go ahead and marry her? And have an affair too?! Is that what you call stable?! Are we just your plan B in case something goes wrong with one of us, you have someone to run to?!" Brian was screaming now. He was absolutely livid. Who would have thought that, out of all people, Brock would think of people this way.

Brock lowered his head, avoiding Brian's gaze as if it were the plague. Brian continued, "Brock, look me in the eye and tell me that this is stable." Brock remained silent, eyes still trained on the ground. "That's what I thought."

Brian turned away and made his way to the front door. He paused in front of the door, "I hope you're happy with her, Brock. You finally get to test out how she works as a plan B." He finally walked out the door and out of Brock's life, leaving said man behind choking on tears.
