As soon as we hear the scream, both of us are running down the stairs. I see a older looking woman- most likely Vic's grandma- on the floor holding her jaw. I then see my father resisting a few cops as they try to take him outside.

"That's my son! If I go to jail he won't have anybody!" My father says. I scoff and flip him off.

"Yeah because any other father beats his own child and calls him a worthless piece of shit," I retort. After they're out of sight a different cop walks over to me and Vic.

"Hello, I'm Officer Way. Do you mind explaining what happened?" he asks me. I nod. Vic turns to leave but I grab his hand to silently tell him to stay. He understands and squeezes my hand, not letting go.

"When I was younger my mother killed herself. My father blamed me for it and started to hate me. Two years ago I came out as gay. That's when he started beating me," I say, turning around and lifting up my shirt to show him the scars. He nods and gives me a sympathetic look.

"Ok, since we have evidence we won't have to have a trial of any sort. You will have to have a recorded statement. Just answer this question and you can go. Why didn't you call the police before?" He asks.

"I was scared of what would happen to me if he escaped. I don't know what made me stop being scared," I said, lying at the last part. I know exactly why I'm not scared anymore. Vic helped me. He told me everything was going to be okay, and for some reason I believe him.

He nods and walks away to the other cops. Vic's grandma walks towards us, hold a ice pack to her jaw.

"I heard what you told the cops. I'm really sorry that happened to you. If you would like you can move in with us. I'm sure Vic wouldn't mind," she says, smirking and gesturing to our hands.

"I wouldn't want to be a burden. I feel like that would be asking too much," I say. She chuckles.

"Nonsense, you can move into the guest room across from Vic's room! We'll get your stuff tomorrow," she says, making me really happy. I nod and hug her.

"Thank you so much." I then realize tomorrow is Saturday.

"No problem. You boys go back to Vic's room, I'll deal with the cops." with that she walks away. Vic and I head back to his bedroom. Once he closes the door I let go of his hand and flop on his bed.

When I look up I see him trying to hold on a laugh.

"What?" I ask. He starts laughing and I'm really confused.

"Your adorable, you know that?" he asks. He realizes what he said and starts blushing.

"Why thank you," I say. He rolls his eyes.

"So, are you excited to be living with your best friend?" He asks. I can't even describe how excited I am.

"Well duh! Beats going home and getting punched and cut by your dad," I say. He nods and sits down next to me.

"And I'll have someone to talk to. My brother is always at parties or with his boyfriend," he says. I smile and nod. It goes silent for a little bit, but I decide to break it.

"Thank you."

"For what?" he asks. I scoot closer to him.

"For being the only one that actually cares about me. I'm so used to No one acknowledging my existence," I say, giving him a hug. He hugs back, slightly tighter but not enough to hurt me.

When we pull apart he looks as if he's contemplating something. He looks down at my lips and I do the same.

We both slowly lean in, but of course, there's a knock on the door. He groans and yells 'come in.'

His grandma walks in with a huge smile on her face.

"Ok, Kellin I have great news. You can stay here, but you'll have to sign these papers," she says. I'm confused because I've never told her my name. She must notice my confusion. She walks over to me and whispers in my ear,"Vic talks a lot about you."

I look over at him and he's blushing. I probably am too. She hands me a pen and gives me the papers that I quickly fill out and sign. She takes them and turns to leave the room. Before closing the door she turns to us and winks.

It's silent for a few minutes, but Vic soon breaks it.

"So...how about the weather?" he asks causing me to laugh. I look out his window to see it's dark and raining. I then look at the clock and it's 11:54.

"Well, rain is my favorite type of weather, so pretty good," I say, making it possibly more awkward. I guess he's not going to bring up the fact that we almost kissed.

As neither of us talk, the tension grows.

"I can't take this anymore," he says, walking over to me and pressing his lips to mine. I'm shocked, but soon kiss back, wrapping my arms around his neck. We pull apart when we're both out of breath. Damn, he's a good kisser.

"Why thank you," he says, chuckling.

"I said that out loud, didn't I," I say. He nods and laughs. I can tell I'm blushing.

"Just so you know, I've wanted to do that since I first met you," he says, causing me to blush more."Also your really cute when you blush."

I roll my eyes and kiss him again, this time more passionately. He pulls back for the second time and I groan, wanting his lips back on mine.

"We should talk some more," he says, laughing at how desperate I am.

"Ok. By the way, I've wanted to do that since ever since I've met you too," I say, kissing his cheek.

"Good to know," he says, winking at me. The door opens and Mike and Tony march into the room.

"I knew it! You owe me 15 bucks," Mike says, patting Vic on the back.

"You guys betted on us?" Vic asks.

"Yeah, we saw the way you guys eye-fucked each other earlier. That's the way Tony and I look at each other. We were betting on how long it would take you guys to get together. He said it would take a week, I said sometime tonight," Mike says. Tony takes out his wallet but I stop him.

"Hold on. Technically we aren't together, we just kissed. We could just wait a week till we officially start dating, then Tony will get the money," I say. Mike playfully glares at me and Vic.

"Dammit Vic, you had to choose a smart one didn't you." he says. He turns to Tony and whispers something that sounds a lot like 'What if you don't pay me with money.' He blushes and grabs Mike's hand, pulling him down the hall to his room.

"Dammit, I didn't even get a chance to remind them to use protection," Vic says, making both of us laugh. I grab his hand.

I could tell my life got a thousand times better, and Vic was the main purpose for that.
