Carlisle's POV

I felt oddly empty. My wife and son were... I shuddrered interanlly. Surely this must have been some trick. but their clothes and walking styles and how thay acted proved they were zombies. How would that happen? To an immortal creature at least? Maybe it infested though breathing it in? But nowhere else had been infested so I was stumped. 

"What do we do?" Emmett asked after a long moment.I looked to him. 

"What if the..infection spreads?" Roalie questioned, almost hesitantly. "It'll go globle in days, not to mention it effects vampires." Everyone shuddered. I closed my eyes. It would, if they got out the airport. Not to mention those large skeletons could rip up a human as if they were nothing, a vampire wouldn't be much difficult.

"The Volturi?" Emmett piped up. I looked to him. If Alice's gift didn't work there, none of their powers would. They they did mange to get control on this situation, they would probably exacute everyone, including Edward and my wife. I flinched.

"A few days..." I started.

"It could spread in a few days. We have to go. If we can, we can spare Edward and Esme." Roslaie said. I took a few deep breaths. Could I endager my two familiy menbers? The Volturi would have to step in, they were a danger to their food source. I cringed internally. They wouldn't believe us, even through our memorys. They would have to visit personally.

"What about that Zombie chick Edward was clinging onto?" Emmett asked.

"What about her?" Jasper asked, his brows furrowing.

"What if he's the main reaosn he a Zombie because she's his zombie girlfriend. It's been three weeks." It was my turn to frown now. Could he be mated to a zombie?  I senced his demaeanor change slightly as I remembered his reation to her touch. He had changed, more than being a zombie. It was deeper than that.

 Like a cold man touching somehting hot after years of not feeling heat. Then suddenly it occured to me what had gone on.

"Cheif daughters his mate" I said, shell shocked by this.

"The Zombie chick? Never thought he had it in him." Emmett shoook his head, depressed abut edward's currrent status.

"He's a vampire Zombie." Jasper pointed out. 

"That's not use the Z word." I said, thinknig of Esme.

 "You make it soul like a swear word." Emmett commented, I gave him a annoyed look.

 "Volturi." ALice confirmed, "They'll came to see in person, Only Jane, Alec, Demitri, Felix, Aro and his personal guards. Caius doesn't care and Marcus can't be bothered." 

I nodded.

"Alice, you stay here, Me and Jasper will go. Roslaie stay with Alice, I don;t want any of us getting picked off." I said, stanidng up. Making sure my wallet and phone were in my pocket as well as my keys.

 Japser nodded while Emmett looked a little put out. We didn't pick anything up, just headed to the car. Jasper was calling the air ports.

It had been a good few centurys since I was last here. I could see where all the buildings were more worn with age and polluted rain. It was sun set, thankfully the area we were at were was shadowed. I sensed that there were guards were near. They knew we here. 

"This way" I said, heading to one of the buildings. We weaved fast though the buildings beofre entering one. I could tell Jasper was slightly surpeised by this. He never really knew where the Vampire kings lurked for the past 3 thousand years. I crineged internaly at the sight of the human at the desk. Replaceable in their view.
