"I restocked the fridge, all vegetarian products don't you worry, I bought some bagels and fresh bread this morning, oh and I got a great deal on chips, so 5 bags in the cupboard, I got more tea and coffee, ummm what else... Oh um I got a lot of citrus fruits, and picked up your B12 pills, be sure to take them sweetie. Oh and we left 1000 dollars on the dinner table, that's only to be used for necessities, you've got your own money from babysitting all those long hours. I drove your car and filled it with gas so you're all set!"
The day has come, my parents rushed in the moment I woke up because they had to leave in 2 minutes to get my grandmother,
"Thanks mom, bye guys have fun, love you." My parents leaned in and hugged me and told me their good byes and left my room excitedly, but not before my dad slapping my moms bum causing her to laugh out loud. Soon enough, after one more good-bye, they sped off down the street.
I quickly texted in the group chat of all 5 of my best friends, Willow, Piper, Caden, Oliver and Alice all in caps saying "FREEDOM!!". Willow and Piper were together, Oliver and Alice were together, and yes Caden would be ideal for me, except for the fact that he's gay, so, we just fifth and sixth wheel a lot. I quickly got ready for school and threw on a olive green halter top and white floral skater skirt, and threw on a cream cardigan. I quickly straightened my hair and teased it and put on my usual fix of makeup that consisted of a light coat of foundation, concealer, rose eyeshadow, light coat of mascara, highlighter, and my tinted lip balm. I grabbed my navy blue jansport, slipped on my frilled white ankle socks and shoved my feet into my off-white adidas og gazelle shoes and hurried down the stairs and grabbed a carrot muffin and poured some fresh coffee into my powder blue travel mug and dashed out the front door after seeing my pets had food in their bowls. I looked the door and jumped into my Volkswagen Beetle Convertible.
As soon as I arrived at school I noticed that I was already late so I took my time roaming the halls to my history class, I was always late anyway. I always waited until everyone was chatting to enter, entering the class when everyone's quiet is awful because you can just feel everyone's eyes on you. I have a mini panic attack everytime. I passed by a couple going at it on the staircase, muttering a quiet 'sorry' as I stepped around them, there's many thirsty people at this school let me tell you that much. When I reached my class I noticed my teacher hadn't even arrived yet so everyone was standing around chatting and laughing, I thankfully slipped into the class unnoticed and my 5'5 frame struggled to pass by all the groups of people, bumping into 3 people on my quest to the back of the class where my and Willows seat was. I fell into my seat beside Willow and smiled at her,
"Hey! " I cheerfully said, taking a sip of my coffee
"Hi." She grunted and through her head into her arms on the desk. Not a morning person. Willow and I were probably the closest of us all, besides Piper, we were best-friends since middle school, the rest only joined when we were freshmen. Willow and I were very different, she had a much more 'idgaf' attitude, constantly wore a messy bun and bare face, her attire was either sweatpants/leggings, flimsy t-shirts and damaged ankle boots, and always had her dads old messenger bag. Whereas I wore lots of skirts, and t-shirt dresses, occasionally high waisted or boyfriend jeans, lots of turtlenecks and crewnecks, rarely wore something low cut. Always had makeup, I adored it, the messiest my hair would ever be is just simply leaving it in its loose waves or a neat high ponytail. I had many pairs of shoes, all well kept. Although we're very different, we somehow manage to keep up with one another and have very similar minds.
I glanced around the room and focused on a group of boys, all pretty good looking, but I find every guy good looking these days honestly, so my judgement isn't something you should depend on. But one stood out more than the rest. His 6'4, lean built stood taller amongst the 6 foot boys that stood around him, his olive skin and jade green eyes complimented eye other and his unkept wavy brown locks pushed back, clear he'd run his fingers through it many times. His soft pink lips, strong jawline and prominent Adam's apple made me want to cry. Gosh he was a beauty. That my friends, was Christian Hallester. I watched as he smiled at his friends attempt to balance his chair on two legs, resulting in him falling backwards, knocking down a friend of mine, Haley Martin, in the process. I rushed over to see the Haley groaning and trying to shove the guy, Dean O'Conner off of her.
