Chapter One
The flames burned the girl's skin and yet she could do nothing to stop it. She thought the sun burned, but not compared to the flames. The flames ate through the wooden box she was in. The tight, claustrophobic box was the only thing keeping her from the deadly heat.
The wooden walls were slowly getting hotter and hotter, yet if she even tried to open the top of it then the flames would rush in and consume her. She should never have fallen asleep on the job, she wouldn't have missed the chance to get out before she was pushed into the flaming Hell.
But now she was waiting to be put out of her misery. She had so many different kinds of sadness and pain bombarding her now. She was trapped, and the flames were slowly eating away her and her soul. Even she wouldn't stay alive if the flames reached her any more.
She had fled death so many times. But recently she had wanted it. She faked her own death, how did she expect to not get hurt? How ironic to die just after faking death.
Her skin was getting redder by the second and the burning was causing large blisters. She could feel her body trying to heal them, but her body was far too slow. Death whispered in her ear, it was coming and soon. The air was burning, too. Though she didn't have to breath, the panic forced her to take a deep breath. She immediately regretted it and started to cough.
A boy rushed into the hot room. His sensitive skin began to boil, he glanced around the room. There were several small doors but only one held his love. The cremator spun around to find the young boy clambering in. The dead bodies lying on the carts were pushed aside by the clumsy boy.
He saw the men and immediately knocked him out with a well pointed punch. The man's nose snapped before he fell to the hard floor. The boy made his way back to the the wall of metal doors. He only had one guess before his love would burn to her death.
But he knew he would choose correctly. Though he had no idea how to use the control panel he somehow pressed the correct button. All the flames ceased and the sound did, too.
He screamed for his love, not expecting for her to respond. Panic filled him as he wondered if the silence signaled her death. It couldn't, it just couldn't. She wasn't meant to die, it wasn't her fate to die so early.
If he found her dead he swore he would finish the job on the man who did it to her. He picked the door that he sensed was hers and slid it open. The charred wooden lid slid off to reveal a body. It was his love.
"Annabel?"
