I blink, trying to figure what this lady just said. Grandchildren ? I want to ask, but Tiffany beats me.

" I'm sorry Miss. I don't know what you're talking about."

The woman's face is a mixture of emotions : sadness, regret, sorrow, and longing

" That's okay. Follow me." She walks into a palm tree, and disappears. I look at Tiffany hesitantly. She shrugs, but follows the woman. With a blink of the eye, she's disappeared. Reluctantly, I follow her. Suddenly, the island doesn't seem so boring anymore. Houses made of wood line the sidewalk of caked dirt. I breath in awe. It's like a whole civilazation. Another woman comes up to us. " Annabeth ! You never told me you had your grandchildren were THIS cute ! " The woman squeals. The lady is pretty, with olive skin, brown hair, and hazel eyes. " Jason ! Aren't they adorable ?"

She turns to a burly, tall man with blond hair. " Piper, give them space. " He smiles at me, and although he's WAY too old, my eighteen year old heart gets butterflies. " Fine," she pouts. " Can I at least treat them to garlic chicken and pasta ? You know Leo and Calypso are cooking today." She looks hopefully at the woman who they call Annabeth.

" Fine," Annabeth looks tempted herself. Apparently the Leo guy and Calypso are great cooks. My own stomach growls and everyone laughs.

" Someone's hungry," Tiffany giggles.

" You know I love garlic, " I mutter.

Everyone laughs again including me. " Come on girls, don't wanna be late to the dinner, do we ?"

" Nope !" Tiffany and I say at the same time.

" Then, wash your hands and meet us at the tables,"  Annabeth points to a few picnic tables and I nod. The drafting smell of the garlic chicken reaches my nose and once more, my stomach growls. Saying bye to Annabeth, who had stuff to do, we skip to the bathroom and wash our hands. Funny how I barely know these people, but they already feels like family.
