The Yellow Field

I peak my head over some of the wheat. Looking around for Alex. My hair flows over my shoulders matching the color of the landscape. "Alex!" I yell and open my eyes wider. "Alex where are you?" I hear ground crumble and crack behind me. I turn around and he is running right towards me. A smile spreads across my face and I begin running, I sift through the golden yellow sea. Behind me he begins to pant and I stop running and turn into a jog. I look behind me and see him fall to the ground. I couldn't tell if he was joking around or not. I walk back in no hurry and look down at him. His rosey cheeks burnt with the chill of the wind. He closes his eyes. I kneel down.
"Alex?"
No response
"Alex?" I say and punch him in the shoulder
No response
"Alex!" Panic begins to set in.
No response. Nothing.
"Alex! What the hell!" I put both hands on his arms "wake up!" A tear roles down my cheek, making my skin feel even colder. "Alex don't mess with me!"
"Awh would you miss me!" He says and smirks. My heart stops. "What is wrong with you!" I yell at him and he just smiles and pulls me in for a hug. I push away and lay next to him. They wheat blew above us and the blue sky was coming to a close with orange at the end. "Its going to be dark soon." I say. "Yes that's true." He says. "Well shouldn't we go inside?" I reply and run my hand through my hair. "Can't you just enjoy the view for a little bit?" He asks. I let out a deep breath and look up at the sky.
No clouds roamed above, just birds and bugs flew by. I turn my head and see him open his eyes and the blue and gold in them remind me just of the sky we were looking at. "I'm not ready to go back to the family." I nod my head. "It really sucks when they are all together." I tell him and look back up to the sky. "Well cousin." He says.
"KIDS, BACK INSIDE." My aunt Kit yells. "Well cousin. We better get inside." I smirk at him.
"Race you?"
"You're on!" I yell and start running.
