A once beating heart,
An object of love? Desire?
Now turned cold as ice by the world around it,
It no longer has the will to fight,
The passion that once burned bright is frozen,
It was loved and cherished by all,
The fires were stoked by words,
The heart's keeper also felt loved and worth it,
Until ice was injected and words were no longer heard,
Isn't that what we all fear?
A hearts greatest fear is to be untrusted,
If it can no longer be trusted on what do we rely?
When words can't be heard?
And truth cannot be seen?
It freezes the flame where it burns.
What if my heart was to beat for others?
Could the fire be used to melt the ice?
Cast out the frost and burn the battlefield,
Relight the passion that once burned,
Become a once again beating heart.
