TABITHA:
i fluttered my eyes open, trying to gain my vision and composure back. after a few seconds of blinking my eyes, i got an urge to cough causing who ever was watching me to gasp and rise.
"she's awake go get a doctor!" i heard my mother say. i had then gained a good enough sight to recognize who she was talking to.
"yes mam." the voice hesitantly said while speed walking out of the room. it was none other then Xavier. he was waiting for me to wake up?
"mommy?"
"yes baby, im here, how are you feeling?"
"im okay, how long have i been sleeping?" i said looking around the room.
"almost a week."
"you've been here the whole time?"
"no, but Xavier has. she says smirking at me like she knew something i didn't. "i had to beg him to go home and shower he was starting to light your room on fire with that smell." i chuckled loudly and started coughing really bad. my mother grabbed a water bottle and opened it giving it to me.
"here drink this." i sat up only to cry out loudly, my back and stomach hurt so badly. "don't hurt yourself, just lay back a little and relax." i nodded as i sucked from the straw of the bottle of water.
"where is Darius?"i asked but we were interrupted by the opening of the door.
"Ms. Waters, you're awake."
"yes, i am." he came over and checked my blood pressure and all that jazz.
"okay well everything is just fine, thanks to Xavier, my only concern is your ribs." that would explain the pain.
thanks to Xavier?
"what's wrong with my ribs?"
"they were fractured badly and it will take some time to heal, a little over 3 months. i don't want you doing anything but lightly exercising and physical therapy at certain points so no nerves will be damaged permanently."
"but my students.."
"don't worry about that honey i already called the school and told them about it and they said take as much time as you need." i smiled at my mom saying a whispered thank you but i still wanted to cry, im gonna really miss my students.
"i highly suggest you get a physical therapist right away so no time will be wasted."
"i can do it. Xavier said i had just remembered that he was in the room. he looked at my face trying to read it. i mean, if you want me to."
"well there you go, you'll most likely be discharged later today or tomorrow because we want you rehabilitated right away. let me know if you have any questions." he said walking out.
we all sat in a loud but comfortable silence until my mom spoke. "well when can you start Xavier?"
"mom, i don't know about that."
"why not, he's gladly offering sweetie, and plus you already know him."
"i'm pretty sure he has better things to do."
"i really don't mind Tabitha, its free of charge also."
"can y'all start next week? and is it okay if she stays there cause i got me a lil boo thang and i ain tryna have her interfering."
"mom!" she looked at me smirking but i know what she's up to she is not slick.
"thats fine, and it is no problem really."
"ok, ok fine." just then his phone went indicating he had a text. he read it, and text back.
"well i gotta go pick up kendall but i'll be back tomorrow morning."
i nodded and he came and kissed my forehead. that was so unexpected, but the sweet gesture made my heart flutter.
"see ya in the morning, goodbye Ms. Waters."
"mhm, bye honey."she said in an all knowing tone i shook my head at her and snickered, while Xavier chuckled and left out.
"you sooooo set that up ma."
"oh girl hush you wanted it, i just cut to the chase."she said winking and smirking at me.
i chuckled. "sure ma."
"but lemme tell you this, you keep something like that away from me as long as you did again an ass whoopin will be waiting on your arrival. now try me." she said pointing her finger at me.
"yes mam." i said looking down.
"i ain't scolding ya but you know you could have came to me baby. an abortion is a big decision, and it should have never been forced on you that nigga better not come around you or me, i got something waiting on him. forreal." they made me think about my question from earlier.
"where is he now?"
"jail, he's been there since you been here and i plan on keeping it that way for a while. he got friends cause he a lawyer but i got friends too." i nodded my head in agreement because i knew she was serious.
"i'm sorry for not telling you everything earlier." i said looking at her sincerely.
"its ok, just don't let it happen again." i shook my head letting her know i understood.
"what did the doctor mean by "thanks to Xavier?" i said remembering.
"well he basically saved your life."
"how??" i asked curiously.
"he gave you his blood because no one had your type but him and he gladly gave it up. now im not trying to be match maker Tab, but that man cares about you more than you think."
i took in everything my mom said. he really did that for me? his blood is running through my veins? we are basically one now. but the main question running through my mind right now is what does Xavier want from me? im just a woman, an unstable woman at that and he still is involved with me? its gotta be deeper than that. but then what he said that night gave me my answer.
FLASHBACK:
"i don't know you that well. but i also don't know what it is about you but im drawn to you. ever since i met you there's been a tugging at my chest when you're around and i can't help but feel the need of your presence. im gonna find out what it is though sooner or later."

"Tabitha!" i heard my mom yell snapping me back into reality.
"yes mam?" i said giving her my attention.
she shook her head at me and smirked. "that boy got ya mind gone already. but i was saying that i gotta go to church for bible study at 8:00 and im gonna be late if i don't go now. im leaving these clothes i got from the house for you to wear tomorrow." she said getting up kissing my cheek. i want you to call me in the morning when you're leaving here so i know you're okay."
"alright ma, i love you."
"love you too baby." she said walking out.
i grabbed the tv remote thinking about everything that has happened recently but especially Xavier. i soon dozed off to sleep drowned in my thoughts.
thoughts on Tabitha? Xavier? Tabitha's mom is a mess lol.
