I had a good time with Lacey last night but we didn't have much in common plus I think of her as a sister I was in my room when I heard a knock on the front door I went downstairs and answered it, it was Matt I smiled "hey bro" I said.

"Hey Christian what's up do you mind if I come in?" he asked I laughed "sure come in dude" I said I went toward the couch and I heard him close the door.

I sat on the couch and he sat next to me we watched the football game "so how have you been?" he asked I sighed and shrugged "Eh iv been better I shifted yesterday, Avery told me that you weren't excited why?" I asked.

He looked at me "cause I feel like a monster" he said I shook my head "Matthew your not a monster, you protect yourself and your family" I said he smiled "your righ-" he was gonna finish but was cut off by my phone ringing.

I looked at the caller ID and it read EJ I answered it "hey what's up?" I asked "I need you to get down here Jamie I don't think is in her best position" he said I was confused "what?" I said.

"I think she is gonna shift" he said an hung up, I ended the call an stood up "we need to go down to the school" I said an headed to the garage "why? what happened?" he asked.

"EJ thinks Jamie is gonna shift" I said he looked surprised "she can't shift at school, she will expose the family secret" he said.

I looked at him "ya I know tell Avery or Riley to try and calm her down" I said he nodded and I saw him type away on his phone when we got there everybody was doing there own thing at school it was lunch time anyways so it worked out.

We got into the building an saw EJ by the door of girls restroom I ran up to him "how is she doing?" I asked he shrugged "I don't know I only hear Riley and Avery talk to her" he said.

I nodded "Jamie is Christian I need you to calm down" I said through the door "she calming down Christian" Avery said I sighed.

"Good now meet us outside okay" I said "got ya Christian see you out there" Avery said again I headed out to the parking lot a few minutes later Avery, Riley, and Jamie came out Jamie had tears in her eyes.

"Jamie what's wrong?" I asked putting her in my Jacket and holding her "I don't wanna talk about it right now" she said looking guilty "Christian she shifted in the bathroom" Avery said.

I looked at her "you did?" I asked looking at Jamie she nodded "it hurt at first but it got better, Avery, Riley were there to help me through it" she said.

"Do you want to come home?" I asked she shook her head "no I wanna go back to class thanks guys lets go" she said and left.

I got in the car with Matt and headed home when I got home I saw my mom there that was weird I walked in and she was doing dishes.

"Hey mom what are you doing home early?" I asked "oh I have-" she started to say but fell I rushed over to her and caught her "mom! mom wake up!" I said she didn't wake up.

"Matt call 911!" I said and carried her to the couch a few minutes later Matt came back "is she gonna be okay?!?" he asked I looked at him "I don't know Matt is the ambulance on their way?" I asked he nodded.

"Good, mom come on wake up please" I said I felt for a pulse she had a strong one 2 minutes later I heard a siren they came in and took her into the hospital.

I sat there and was frozen I was scared about what going on, my mom has been working so hard lately, I got up and headed to the hospital with Matt.
