There was a shroud covered around me and there was a faint breeze that kissed the back of my head as I walked through a crowded path.
I see the path wined down into the darkness and disappear out of sight.
"You fell into death and came back..
Almost unheard of." A voice spoke in the gloom of the shadows unknown and out of sight.
"Who's there?" I shout
"Do you think you really believe you are truly ready for whats out there? You think you can survive?!" The voice was different...
"What are you?" I shout once more
"...Your end."I woke to the sound of a honking noise next to my bed
Ugh... great weird ass dreams are getting to me
I get up and dressed ready for whatever command has to give me.
"Joshua please report to the central station a.s.a.p" command spoke over a PA system.
I get to where I needed to go and wait for someone to meet me. Soon a man I've never seen before walks towards me.
"Mr. Joshua?" He spoke
"...Yes?" I reply
"Hello, I am your new doctor to make sure you aren't gonna fall apart during firefights and whatever you soldiers do."
"You don't trust in my integrity?" I shift on my feet
"It's not you I don't trust..."
I look down and am reminded by what happened... I almost forgot I even lost most of my body. I guess thats a good thing.
"Oh...right." I move my right arm. The only one that is not riddled with metal
"Now...lets get you ready for the field once again." He pulls out a scanner and waves it around my arm and legs
"Everything checks out! Follow me and I'll get you to your gear." He waves and motions me to follow
As I walk I hear whispers and feel the gaze of people looking at me.
"You will be sent alone on this trip, command wants to see what you can do with your new handicap."
I take his comment with silence.
I am then put in a room I am most familiar with, the armor room. I slipped on my gear, grabbed a gun and exited.
"Now you will be provided with one task. Survival. We will be monitoring closely on you as to see how you handle the situations you're put in."
"Right. I'm ready to go." I say
He then points to a chopper thats sitting idle in the hangar. I enter it and perch myself looking out of the window.
15 minutes pass
I arrive near an old road with no cover whatsoever.
"We'll be in touch marine." The pilot spoke as I jumped down
After he left only a few moments after I hear a gunshot. I dash for the nearest bit of cover, which in my case was an old bashed up car.
I hear the bullets hit the metal of the car with a solid thud.
I felt my body move and shake but then I go into action.
I run out and see three guys. Two with automatic weapons and one with a sniper.
I shoot two shots and both hit the sniper dead on in the chest and shoulder. I turn my attention to the other two, shots fire at me and hit my new metal appendages and I see artificial blood fly from my left arm and hip.
"Why wont this FUCKER die!?!" One shouts
"I don't know! Just keep shooting!!"
I pull back and fire three shots that hit one right in the chest and I switch and shoot the other in his knee.
I hear the bullet pierce his leg and I hear the cracking of his shin. He falls to the ground clutching his wound and crying in agony.
I walk up close to him and point the barrel of my rifle right in between his eyes, and soon the cries stop.
"What the fuck are you?" He says with a tear in his eye from the pain.
"Someone you shouldn't have shot at." I say
"You...all of you are monsters!" He shouts at me
"The only murderer I see is you..." I pull the trigger and hear the loud bang and his blood flies from his head onto my suit.
I check my mag and I still have ten more bullets left.
Back into the fire once more and maybe next time I'll be out here again with my team.
But for now I better move. That firefight might've caught a lot of noise and drew attention...
