Cyd was about to push the knife into her skin but stopped. Shelby looked up at Cyd. "Cyd! What are you doing!" Shelby said, running towards the knife and grabbed it from her friend. "Cyd, what were you thinking?" She asked with a large amount of concern for her friend. "None of you business." Cyd mumbled. Shelby put her arm around Cyd to comfort her. "Cyd, there's something wrong. Tell me." Shelby said. "Well..-" Cyd said. Drake walked into the kitchen and yelled to Shelby, "I forgot my jacket!" "Ok!" Shelby yelled back. "What were we talking about again?" Shelby asked, getting distracted. Cyd looked at the ground. "Never mind."

In the middle of the night, Cyd couldn't sleep. She thought of what happened today. "Freeze me! Please!" replayed in her head over and over. Cyd got out of bed, put on some day clothes, and walked up to Shelby's bed. Cyd sighed and touched Shelby's arm. It woke Shelby up but not early enough to stop Cyd from time travelling them back to the horrible future. They had the batons in their hands. "Cyd! What did you do?" Shelby asked. Cyd dropped her baton and walked up to Janet. "Janet. Freeze me." Cyd said seriously. Janet was confused but nodded to the guards. "You heard her! Take her!" Janet ordered. "Cyd no! What are you doing! You'll be frozen forever!" Shelby yelled. "Wait." Cyd said to Janet. Since it was Cyd's idea, she stopped to find out what would happen next. Cyd walked up to Shelby. "You don't need me." She said. "What do you mean!" Shelby asked, completely confused on why Cyd would say that. "You have Drake." Cyd snarled. Cyd turned away and started walking with the guards. "Cyd wait!" Shelby yelled. Cyd didn't look back. "Shelby, no. It's too dangerous." Drake said. Shelby left Drake's arm and turned to him. "Cyd's my BEST FRIEND. I need her." Shelby said angrily. Tears started to well up in her eyes. "We have to save her. She doesn't know what she's doing!" Shelby pleaded. "Too bad, so sad." Janet cut in. Shelby tried to run down the hallway that Cyd went down but Janet's body guards stopped her. She tried to push through but she got surrounded. "Let me in! Please!" Shelby pleaded. Then Drake stepped in. "With all do repect, could you at least let her watch?" Drake asked. Janet thought about it. Janet nodded as the guards held Shelby tight.

Shelby watched in fear as she saw her friend slowly being frozen. Her eyes were overflooding with tears until she couldn't hold it in anymore. The first tear drizzled down her cheek. "How sad, getting through all this trouble.. just to see your friend like this and there's NOTHING you can do to save her." Janet taunted. Shelby remembered those words the last time she encountered Janet. It was when Cyd almost died. For this first time, Shelby got angry. She got up and shoved the guards out of the way. Drake grabbed her arm. "Shelby, stop." Drake said, holding her back. Shelby didn't listen as she flung herself out of Drake's grasp and pushed the scientist that had the freezing gun out of the way. At this time, the ice was at Cyd's neck. She could barely breath. It was a slow yet sure death process. Shelby tried to break Cyd free but there was no movement. "Cyd! Wake up!" Shelby yelled, shaking Cyd's head. The head just lifelessly moved down. Shelby knew what this meant. Cyd was gone. There was nothing she could do. Then Shelby felt something she had never felt before. Hate and rage. Shelby lunged at Janet and grabbed a guards baton. She turned it on. "You'll pay for this!" She yelled. "Guards!" Janet yelled. Drake tried to get Shelby off of his boss but Shelby was clinging on to Janet like glue. "Cmon Shelby, this isn't funny." Drake said. "I know it isn't! She killed my best friend!" Shelby yelled. It pained her to say it. "She's gone." Shelby said in tears. Drake finally got Shelby off of Janet.

Suddenly, Cyd coughed, trying to breath. Shelby looked back. "Cyd?" Shelby asked. Cyd was sweating, gasping for air. Her stomach was frozen from the supended animation. Her lungs couldn't move easily. Shelby tried to get her out, then looked over at the scientist that she knocked out. She took his freeze ray and set it to "melt." She pointed it at Cyd's frozen body and pulled the trigger.
