Wonderland Chronicles: The Last Regalia

 Hi I'm zed I have been an orphan for as long as I could remember I some far have one and only one trusted friend besides most of the town folks. I have recently turned 17 and the caretakers at my orphanage has told me that my parents died fighting in the war 17 years ago, and I was given to this orphanage in the middle of a big storm with a note hidden under the basket say

  Protect this by from harm he shall be of great importance to this kingdom, for he is the person to wash away our sins and shall be our gift towards this kingdom.

  they gave me a necklace and a ring which was pretty odd the necklace was a prism shape that was pitch black and was flat on the top where the silver small chain was connected towards it it had intricate silver designs on the side near the flat top, while the ring was a sphere one that had the sapphire cut to a rectangular piece it was also silver. 

 as I ran home to the orphanage as fast as I can, today was the day. "Zed, slow down" Lucius said panting completely out of breath "c'mon hurry or else we'll be late. 

  as both me and Lucius were panting out of breath we walked into the orphanage and saw that there were seven people standing there miss Fiona the chef of the palace, Slain the kingdom scout, Hendrickson the captain of the watchmen, jack the merchant and finally a noble man who I did not recognize,  he was tall but slender and had long tied blonde hair. The most Prominent was the scar that went through his eyes which made one of his eye a pale blue color that made it weird for some reason while the other eye was a deep ocean blue, he wore a black robe with intricate gold lines on the front of his robe and a wide brim hat that was a glowing velvet

  This is Baron klein one of our neighboring Town's baron, "hi there well, I'm looking for some promising recruit too be our vanguard and scout for our raid in the portal" He said "I'll go" I said, everyone gasp "are you insane zed?" Lucius said "no,I'm perfectly sane its just, I want to live life too the fullest" I said smiling. Lucius grabbed both of my shoulders and said "you crazy dumbass, if you wanted to live life to the fullest then find another job that doesn't end up with you f#$king dying" He yelled "no you moron, I mean to the fullest as to live to the fullest thrill and adventure" I said still smiling. Lucius sighed and said "hey Baron you wanted two right?" Lucius said "yes,correct"he said sternly "well I also volunteer to go" Lucius said calmly "you aren't going" Klein said "what!" Lucius yelled shocked "Yet" Klein spoke in a deep and serious voice "follow me, you said you wanted to go right" Baron Klein said.

  We followed him to a carriage and rode towards another town called Fieldcrest, it was enormous compared to Astor and the streets were filled with smells. Too the smell of burning wood from the blacksmith forge towards the fresh smell of bread, when we arrived at his manor it was big and grand with a blend of white marble and bright wood there were hundreds of window panes all clean and shining. We sat in the living room where a maid gave us some tea and the baron sat crossed legged, "so you youngster wish to go to the portal right and try to conquer it,correct" he said "yes,correct we wish to go to the portal and seek adventure" I said. The baron bursted too laughter "your killing me, I may be only 28 but thats still gonna kill me if you keep on saying things like that" he said still chuckling "what is so funny, baron?" asked lucius "that is the most foolish thing I have heard you are a mere fool if you think that seeking adventure like in those story tales can be done" he said harshly "I think it is possible and if I say so then I have the right to follow those dreams" I argued back "those are mere dreams that are stupid and ridiculous, and those who follow them are just stupid as much as those ideals" he said in a cold voice that sent chills down my spine. "well lets get off the topic" Lucius said. as we talked about the raid and portal, "you too I will give you some money to rent an inn too stay in and remember tomorrow morning your going to to in the raid" he said smiling. 

  As we stepped out of the manor a maid and butler stepped out and said "mister Zed and Lucius we are sorry for master's behavior he is rather cold and harsh since mistress Emily died a year ago. "What was he like before she died?" Lucius asked "well they were very happy with each other and love each other dearly, they treated everyone kindly from the aristocrat to the commoners" The butler said. We went to a inn called the sparrow's nest, which was rather pleasant. I immediately laid myself on the bed when we got there the bed felt so good especially when you had a hard day while Lucius was unpacking our belongings.

  The next morning we went to the portal and saw that a girl, she had purple long hair and dressed a black and purple skirt and had a long curved blade that was similar to the katana I heard about. Her face was almost glowing in beauty, as I saw Baron Klein approach out of his Manor in a suit of grey and black armor he said hey "kid catch"and threw three swords to me "give one to Lucius over there" He yelled from afar. "Now let me introduce you to the other vanguard or scout" Baron said "her name is Celinette" Baron said "call me Celin, if you like" she said with a soft voice. "Now you three are going to go ahead because you are the vanguards" Baron Klein said 

  We all took a deep breath and approached the portal it was a round circle of stone with strange marking and had inscription written in it, it had a small slab on the bottom saying

  I gulped at the name as we all took a step in to the portal. There was a flash of black darkness and then I saw something magnificent this was a cave but a majestic one it had waterfalls of red shiny liquid, everywhere and birds flying there but then when I took a closer look. "What the hell" Lucius screamed "the water isn't red liquid its blood" he said horrified "what!" I yelled we all rushed towards the water and saw that he was right and I looked at the birds and realized that the bird had black feathers like a crow but they had a skull for a head and then I realized
