You had simple life. Good friends, nice parents, it was good. You lived in a small little town with few hundred people. Everyone knew everyone and nothing was a secret there. The gossip spread like wild fire and that was the only excitement in your life besides your friends. It was the same routine everyday and you were tired of it. You wished for some excitement and you finally got it.

You wake up to the regular sunrise out the same window you had in your room for sixteen years. “Let’s get this day over with.” you groan and get out of bed. Summer just started two days ago and so far, it’s not off to a fun start. You trudge down the stairs to the smell of pancakes. The usual happy tone was filled with an awkward silence. “Um mom?” you ask. “What’s with all the awkwardness in here. Who died?”

Your mom shakes her head. “It’s just your Aunt Loraine and I have been talking.” her voice trails off. Was she talking about the business deal? You see, your parents are in the CIA and they need to go for two years for an assignment. Since your sixteen and not an adult, they need to put you with a family member. Your grandparents passed away two years ago, and Loraine lived in Ireland and your uncle (on your dads side) was in the navy. You really hoped you could stay with Loraine and not a friends house like you did when you were fourteen.

"And?" you ask, really hoping Loraine will take you in.

"And, we decided to let you live with her in Ireland while we’re gone." You literally jump for joy. You run to your parents and kiss their cheeks.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" you cheer and run upstairs to pack.

ONE WEEK LATER………

You and your parents arrive at the airport. You turn to your parents and start to tear up. They hold you close. “Remember that we love you and we’ll call everyday. Be the grown woman we know you can be.” they say with tears as well.

"I love you guys so much." you sob. You hear your flight being called and cry more. "Bye mom. Bye dad. I love you!"

"Bye (y/n)!" they sob. "We love you!" you get one last hug and walk to your plane, wiping the tears away. After you get on the plane, you find your seat and pull out your iPod. You turn on Boyce Avenue and close your eyes. You drift off to sleep against the window of the plane.

SIX HOURS LATER……

You wake up to a flight attendant shaking you up. You get your bags and walk to the airport to find Loraine. It’s been three years since you’ve seen her. After thirty minutes of waiting, you spot her.

"(y/n)!" she yells. You walk towards her and she hugs you. She looks at you. "You got so much bigger since you were thirteen! Come on let’s talk in the car." you put your bags in the trunk and head off. You and Loraine catch up on things and joke just like old times until you reach her house. It’s the same as you left it.

It was the same beautiful house it was three years ago. About five years ago, Loraine bought this house. It used to be a bed and breakfast but it was a house just for her. Now, it’s for you and her together. “I hope you don’t mind, (y/n).” she starts. “But I changed your room a bit. It’s different than last time.” she winks and you head up stairs. You open the door and gasp.

"I thought you would like a more grown up room.” she says. "It’s a birthday present for you."

You hug her tightly. “I love it! Thank you so much!” you run and jump on your bed. She leaves so you can pack. You finish unpacking and go downstairs.

"Good thing your here, (y/n)!" she smiles and hands you a tin. "Take these to the Horan’s next door." she says. "They’re a thank you for dinner last week."

"Kay!" you say. "Be right back!" and you leave. You checked yourself in Loraine’s car mirror. You didn’t want to make a bad impression. Why am I in a jersey? Cause my favorite team has a game tonight!! ( http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=93885610 ). I knock on the door and someone opens it. I have to think about cold things to keep from blushing.

"Hello?" he answers. You snap out of it. He looks surprised too as he looks at you.

"Hi! I’m Loraine’s niece. She told me to bring these over to thank you guys for the dinner last week."

"Oh yeah thanks." he says. As he reaches for the tin, our fingers touch and you both giggle and blush. "You going to the game tonight?" he asked.

"I wish!" you sigh. "I’m watching it on tv. How bout you?"

"I’m going to see them in an hour." he laughs.

"Man! That is so cool!" you smile.

"My friend bailed out on the game." he says as he looks to the ground. "Do you wanna go?"

"Are you kidding?" you ask. He shakes his head. "I would love to go!"

"Great!" he says, blushing harder. "I’ll be at your house in an hour yeah?"

"Yeah!" you say really happy like. "See ya!" you sing song as you skip all the way to your door. You run upstairs to get ready. In an hour, there’s a knock on the door. Sadly, Loraine beat you to it and you decided to listen in on their conversation.

"Didn’t I tell you Niall?" she smirks. "I knew you would ask her out as soon as you saw her."

"I didn’t think she would look so amazingly beautiful." he sighed. "She’s special." you decided now was good to come down the stairs. ‘

"Hey Niall!" you say, pretending that you didn’t hear anything.

"H-Hey (y/n)!" he blushes. "You look great!"

"Thanks. So, what were you guys talking about?"

"Just the game and stuff." Niall say nervously. "Let’s go shall we?" You nod and take his arm. You get in the car and drive to the game. You find your seats when you arrive. They were right in front of the field!

"This is so cool!" you squeal. "I haven’t been to a game in ages!" you sigh. You were thirteen when you last saw a live game.

"I have season passes so it has its perks." he laughs. "Most girls aren’t into football."

"Maybe I’m not like most girls." you smirk.

"I’ve noticed." he says as you and him blush. The whistle blows and the game begins. It was the "Boys in Green" vs. "The Stars and Stripes" (USA). It was a tight game! Midfielder, Landon Donovan (USA)  was scoring left and right until goalie, Kieran Westwood (Ireland) caught the ball and threw it towards forward, Simon Cox. Cox brought it down to USA’s goal. The score was tied but not for long as Cox shot the winning goal! The crowd cheered and you and Niall did in honor of the triumphant victory! You and Niall find your way out of the screaming crowd and to his car.

"That was amazing!" you cheer as you get into Niall’s front seat.

"I know right! It was one of the most epic football matches ever!"  you and Niall talk about the game and your background and his background. He pulls up to your house and gets the door you. He leads you to the porch. "I had a lot of fun with you tonight (y/n)." he said.

"Me too! Hey, wanna hang out tomorrow?" you ask. "My place."

"Sure." he smiled and leaned in to kiss you. You kissed his cheek and he looked confused. "Are you ok, (y/n)?"

"Niall, you know my background. It’s hard for me to trust new people. I had fun but, I’m still on the fence ya know?" he nods.

"I get it. It’ll just take some time" you nod and he kisses your cheek. "See ya tomorrow." he said as he walked to his house. He wasn’t going to give up. He knew you were special and wanted you to trust him, You thought about the date in your head. The way he listens is a sign that you could trust him but you were still unsure. Was this all happening too fast??
