*next morning*

"Morning." I kept walking without replying which made him frown. "Well this is the first time I've seen you wear the cardigan. It's not that cold yet." I grumpily bit at my toast and he sighed. "You're not that nice today." I stayed silent and swallowed the last bit of toast I had. "Are you alright? You're quiet but really....angry." Kiyoko came running from behind with tears in her eyes while shouting. "IM SO SORRY MIZUKIIIIII!!!!" She attempted to tackle me but I shifted to the right and she landed on the floor. "I've been rejected by my own cousin!" She had watery eyes with teas falling and I sighed. I pulled her up and patted the dirt off her uniform.

"I-I-I WUV YOU MIZUKI!" I smiled and wiped her tears with my handkerchief. "Yeah yeah, love you too." Kagami seemed confused and interrupted. "Uh. What happened?" Kiyoko shakily spoke and poked her index fingers together. "W-well...this morning I was rushing own the stairs to eat pancakes b-but I slipped..." Kagami raised a brow and looked at me. "And?" I sighed and stuffed my handkerchief in my pocket. "I just grabbed her wrist and nobody got hurt." Kiyoko had her watery eyes again and shook her head. "T-that's not true! She pulled me backwards but then she rolled down the stairs instead of me! She's got cuts and bruises all over her arms and legs! I'm so sorry Mizuki!"

In a second Kagami picked me up and put me on the bench. "W-what are you doing?!" He pulled my long socks down and underneath it revealed gashes and purple markings. "It's alright. I'll live." He flicked my forehead and growled at me. "It's not alright! You have bruises everywhere! You didn't even treat them!" I smiled while pulling my socks up. "It IS alright. I saved my cousin from getting injured and I'm just paying the price." Kiyoko grit her teeth and shouted which made me and Kagami jump. "No it isn't! It isn't alright Mizuki! You're injured because of me!" She looked at Kagami and bowed. "Please take care of my cousin for me!" And just like that, she left.

I sighed and then stood up. "It's alright. Ignore he-" he picked me up princess style and began walking. "No. She didn't need to tell me, I would've done it anyway. And I saw you trying to hide you limping. There was a bandage under your sock. I saw it." I tried to move but then I flinched from the pain as I struggled. "Tch...whatever. It's just a sprain.." We were almost at school and I felt like someone was watching but then I shrugged it off. Kagami set me down and we both walked around the corner to school.

We both went to our lockers and then I opened it. I ignored the death threat papers in it and grabbed for my shoes. "Geez Mizuki. Your locker is a mess. Don't just throw trash in there." I sighed as I pulled out my shoes and a letter slipped out. "What's this-" my eyes widened as Kagami looked at the contents and I grabbed for the paper but he raised it up higher. "Kagami it's fine! Just give it back!" I tried reaching for it but he was way too tall and I jumped with my bruised legs.

As I jumped he hugged me and shouted. "Who did this?!" People looked at him in shock from shouting suddenly. Still hugging me, he gave everyone a glare. I patted his back and I forced a smile. "It's fine really. I'll just toss them out." I squirmed out of his hug and picked up all the letters and threw them in the trash. "See. All better." I slipped on my shoes and walked to class, leaving Kagami behind.

DING DONG DING DONG

School was over and I stayed late for after school duties. I finished my duties and then I walked to my locker to change shoes. I opened my locker and a letter was in there. "I thought I threw it all out already-" 'come by the pool after school ugly.' I crumbled the paper and threw it on the floor while slipping on my shoes. "Might as well see who's been sending these letters.." I walked towards the school pool after changing my shoes.

Kagami POV

Damn I'm late! I forgot I had cleaning duty today! I ran to the lockers and saw that Mizuki already changed shoes. "Am I too late?" I sighed as I closed her shoe locker. *crink* what was that? I picked up a crumbled piece of paper and read it. My eyes widened and I squeezed the paper in my hand while sprinting.

Normal POV

I saw two pissed girls, one with her arms crossed, and the other with her hands resting on her hips. They glared at me as they shouted. "We know you're blackmailing Kagami! Unlike you he can do something useful in society!" I stayed quiet and the grew even more pissed. "Talk you ugly girl! There's no way he'd stay with an ugly girl like you!" I sighed and spoke back. "Is that all you have to say? I'm leaving then."

I turned around and then I felt someone push me into the pool. "Ugly witch!" I sunk down and I tried to swim back up with my uniform growing heavy. As I was trying to reach the surface my leg cramped up. Damn it! It was probably because I've been over using my leg too much from the sprain!

I felt my air leave little by little and eventually I coughed. My sight grew blurry as I saw air bubbles leave to the surface. My chest hurt but then my eyelids grew heavier. Is this how I die? "MIZUKI!!" My eyes flashed open and I felt someone grabbing my waist and I felt the cool air above the surface. *cough cough* "Mizuki are you alright?!" Kagami pulled me over the edge and I laid on the floor coughing and gasping for air. The girls were still there glaring at me.

"Kagami you didn't need to rescue her! You could've been free from her spell!" He pulled himself over the edge and then he carried me as I shook from the cool breeze. "Are you idiots! I'm not under a stupid and crazy spell! I'm by her side because I choose to be there! Even if I was under a spell I wouldn't mind either way! Now leave!" The girls flinched and then ran out the door and down the hallway.

My body shook from the breeze in the wind and he hugged me tight. I felt tears swell up and I sobbed as I cuddled into his warmth. "I-I was s-so scared..." I cried as he kept hugging me and he grabbed all of our things and we left the school. He carried me down the usual route we walked through to get home but he brought me into his apartment. He let me down in the restroom and I dug through my bag. I pulled out my phone and called Kiyoko but then Kagami suddenly grabbed the phone. "Go shower. I'll talk to her."

He closed the door after handing me a towel and I turned on the water. When I finished I wrapped the towel around me and opened the door slightly. "U-uh..." I walked out and Kagami wasn't there but there were clothes and a note on the bed. 'Hey Mizuki! I brought some clothes over since Kagami asked me to! Don't worry I'll cover for you and tell my parents that you're at Riko's house!' I sighed but then smiled and then put on my clothes. "Are you done changing?" I jumped as Kagami's voice came through the door. "Y-yeah."

The door opened and then Kagami walked in with PJ's. "I took a shower at my neighbors place." I nodded and laid on the bed. He sat next to me and supported himself with his arms. "I don't have a futon so we'll share the bed since it's king sized. "W-wha-" suddenly he turned off the lights and then pulled the blanket over us. He was crouching over me and I felt his breath on my cheeks. "What are you do-?!" He kissed me on the cheek and I felt shivers go down my spine. "CPR." I blushed and then he lightly pressed his lips onto mine.

He detached our lips and he touched my lips with his thumb. "Open your mouth. You'll die if I can't perform CPR correctly." I blushed and spoke back. "I'm not even drowning!" He smiled charmingly and neared our faces again. "Yes you are." He leaned in and found his way through my lips and I felt his breath beating against mine. "Mnn!" I flinched as his tongue rubbed against mine. It was hot now and we sweated. He backed away again and then smiled. He reverted to laying next to me and hugged me. I felt his heart pounding and it was just like mine.

"Maybe we're drowning in each other."
