Scanning the room, Hinata found Sasuke standing near her best friend Kiba. She smiled and shyly waved at him. Only to have him turn around and walk somewhere else. She frowned in confusion, maybe he hadn't seen her.
"Something wrong?" Gaara asked noticing her frown.
She shook her head an smiled."No, not at all"
"You sure?" He said in a questioning tone.
Hinata looked down, she wished Gaara wasn't so good in reading her emotions.
She hated worrying people about her. Especially Gaara, he had enough problems to worry about."Its fine, nothing I can't handle"
He nodded simply." You look stunning by the way."
Hinata blushed deeply." T..Thank you."
He smiled at her blush."So tell me, any plans to go visit Suna any time soon?"
"Not at the moment, I would have to get a mission first." She said.
"Yes that's true. How are things with Sasuke? Do you still you wish not to be married to him?" He asked.
Hinata was about to ask what he meant but stopped as she began to remember.
"Why do you cry? You have but just arrived, do you not like Suna?"
Stunned to have been discovered crying, hinata turned, wiping her tears as well."Am not crying"
The kazekage gave her a skeptical look."Of course you weren't"
She bit her bottom lip out of habit, and met his eyes. Searching for some explanation to his curiosity, but to her disappointment she could not. The kazekage was just like him, unreadable. His face was emotionless, but his eyes showed sadness. Was it for her? No, this kind of sadness was caused by a greater force.
"Why would the Kazekage bother with someone like me?" She asked."A Kazekage's duty is to his people." he simply said.
"Am not a Suna citizen though." she said.
"You are in Suna are you not?" he asked.
"Well yes" she said rather confused.
"Then as long as you are in Suna, you are part of my people."
Hinata began to giggle."You are something else."
"I'vn told. So will you tell me what is wrong?"
Hinata turned; sighed; and looked up at the night sky."I am unhappy, because I made the one I love happy."
"Shouldn't you be happy then?" he asked not understanding.
"It is more complicated than that am afraid"
"We have all night" he said.
"Do we?" she asked.
"I don't see why not"
She smiled lightly." I married Sasuke so he's life would be spared, and that way Naruto wouldn't suffer because of it."
"Your right, its more complicated that it appears."
Hinata smiled at her old memory of the night when they both met, before meeting Gaara's gaze. " Actually, I fell in love with him"
