"What?" I asked.

"Why were you outside in the dark?By yourself Hannah." He asked angrily.

"I needed a walk after what just happened. Okay?"

"Don't go out like that in the night. There are creeps outside at this time." He said.

I got up and shrugged, "This guy in a suit was following me in a black jeep." I said calmly.

Jakob's head shot up straight away. "What did he look like?" He asked.

"He had brown hair and hazel eyes, I think."

"Shit!" He said loudly taking a step back and running his hands down his face.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Stay here. Okay?" He said.

"Where are you going?" I quickly asked.

"Just stay here." He said sternly, grabbing his jacket from the closet and running out the door.

A few moments passed and I still stood there thinking. Why would Jakob run off like that? It must have been something urgent for him to act like that. But why did he swear when I described the man. I couldn't help to think that they might actually know each other.

I slowly made my way upstairs taking one step at a time. As I reached my room, my phone started ringing. I looked at the caller ID and saw Layla's name flashing on the screen.

"Hey" she said.

"Hi"

"What's wrong?" She asked worriedly.

"It's nothing."

"Oh okay. Well I was thinking maybe you wanted to come over and we could have like a girls sleepover." She said. This is why I like Layla. She never pushed for answers if I'm not willing to talk. She's the closest I've ever had to a sister.

"Nah sorry I can't. Jakob doesn't want me leaving the house for some reason. You can come over if you want."

"But isn't your dad home?" She asked.

"No. I think he's working late tonight." I said.

"Okay. I'll be over in 10 minutes." She squealed and hung up.

Layla hardly comes to my house and when she does she gets super excited. It's not every day that you can have your best friend over when you have an abusive father.

I went downstairs and heated up some popcorn for us to eat. I got my laptop and loaded the movie 'Roommates' and waited for Layla on the couch.

A couple minutes went by and the bell rang. I got up and opened the door to see a very excited Layla.

"I'm so excited!" She screeched.

I just smiled and welcomed her in. She sat on the couch while I sat on her left and played the movie while taking big handfuls of popcorn.

"Oh, by the way. There's a guy outside leaning on his Jeep." She said calmly.

WHAT?

I quickly got up and lifted the blind up and saw the same man outside leaning on his car. He was looking around and his eyes landed on me staring.

I quickly let go of the blind and let it fall back and moved my head from his view. Yep, he defiantly saw me staring. I run to the couch and pause the movie.

"Hey. What are you doi-" I pulled Layla off the couch and placed my fingers on my lips telling her to be quiet.

"Shhhhh. Follow me." I whispered.

We tiptoed around the house and made it to the backdoor. We went around the garden to the front of the house and hid behind the side wall.

I peeked around the corner and saw the car but couldn't see him anywhere. I looked around but couldn't find him anywhere.

I walked up to the car with Layla slowly trailing behind confused as ever. I peeked through the tinted windows and saw the car empty. Where is this guy?

"Looking for me?" A husky voice whispered in my ear.

I whipped my head to the right and came face to face with the handsome stalker. Our faces were inches apart. He gave me a fright and I was breathing heavily. I stared into his hazel eyes getting distracted. I snapped out of my trance and saw him smirk and pull his face away.

"Who are you?" I asked, looking at him up and down. He was wearing the same thing from earlier today, a crisp black suit.

"Toni," he replied simply. I looked at his suit jacket and noticed something pocking out. I stepped closer to him and placed my hands on his jacket. I saw him flinch to my touch. Moving the jacket out of the way to see a gun attached to a holster.

My breath hitched and I took a step back. I looked at Layla who was to busy ogling over the man. I pulled her arm and ran to the front steps of the house. I opened the door and looked back to see him staring back at me. His eyes held an emotion I couldn't quite figure out.

I slipped in through the door and locked it after Layla came through.

"Who was that?" She questions.

"I don't know."

"He's pretty hot," she replied.

I sent her a look which made her keep her mouth shut. I must say that I do agree with her. He was very handsome and his eyes were like some sort of enchantment. But looks can be deceiving.

He was carrying a gun just like Jakob. Now that I think of it, I don't feel very comfortable with Jakob now that he has a gun. But first I have to figure out why he does.

I looked through the curtain again and saw Jakob talking with Toni. They were in some heated argument. I let the curtain fall back and sat with Layla on the couch finishing the last of the popcorn and the movie.

After a couple of minutes the front door opened and Jakob came through with Toni following closely behind. Jakob turned to Layla and I and glared daggers at me.

"Didn't I tell you not to leave the house?" He asked.

"Yes you did. But technically I didn't leave the house because our backyard and driveway are apart of the house. So I didn't leave the premises of the property." I answered proudly.

Jakob gave a defeated sigh and started walking up the stairs. I looked at Toni and saw him giving me his signature smirk.

What.

Today has been so confusing.
