Hey guys! Sorry it took so long but I'm finally posting Instinct again. This is a reworking of the old version which I'll leave up but is not continuing... new chapters are coming soon so enjoy :D
Prologue:
You know that feeling you get when you look at an old photograph or video recording of yourself from a long time ago? Like you almost have trouble believing such a naive, innocent little kid was actually you at one point? When you look into the eyes of the younger version of yourself and your memories suddenly reappear and replay like a film inside your head? When you know about everything that young little kid has not experienced yet, almost as if you have complete control over a fate that is still awaiting them?
That's how I feel as I write this, looking back at my eleven year old self, before we changed. Before everything changed. A tragedy shrouded in lies, a hidden side of a system that everyone trusted, and an entire species on the verge of extinction. Everything has changed so much so fast, I almost don't know what to think, or who to believe in anymore.
But you have to believe in me.
Only you can stop this tyranny. Only you have the strength to resist. Hopefully, after hearing the end of our story, you will understand how your resistance will not only save the lives of you, or your children's, or even your children's children, but decide the fate of the human race as a whole.
I leave this journal behind in case we fail. Whoever is reading these words, please believe them, please spread them, and I beg of you, guard them with your life, because if something goes wrong today, these words could be the only record of the truth, and the only hope for saving what little is left of the human race.
