Behind him, across vast distances of space and time, from the place he had left, he thought he heard music too. But perhaps it was only an echo. The sled continued to slide down the frosty white hill, as Jonas and Gabe both went unconscious. His head was still determined on staying alive, yet his body was immobile. The sled then came to a firm stop, and he felt the sensation of a memory he could keep, a feeling of warmth and sunlight. As Jonas regained consciousness, he stood up and cradled Gabriel, lightly placing the palm of his hand on Gabriel's chest, attempting to transfer some of his warmth into the young child's body. Gabriel's eyes slowly opened and he beat his lashes, until finally comprehending that it was warmth he was feeling and a huge smile found its way onto his face.
"It's alright Gabriel. We're alive now, and as long as our hearts are beating, our journey continues." Jonas claimed. As he remembered the music he heard and the lights he saw as he was lethargic, he realised he had achieved the capacity to hear beyond. He also realised that he had experienced a memory which he had given away to Gabriel, and abruptly, all the memories had started to come back to him. Jonas and Gabriel fulfilled their journey as they finally saw different genres of flowers. As he walked, different words he hadn't recognised had emerged in his brain. Roses, Sunflowers, Dandelions. Finally, he realised that this was something Elsewhere would call "Spring." They continued to march around, looking at many different sights they had never seen before. Gabriel suddenly perceived a new word, his first word.
"Red! Red apple tree!" He yelled. Jonas stumbled in confusion, yet as he spun around, he knew what Gabe had meant. He saw trees, millions of them, and finally witnessed the new being that was the shift of two different worlds. He saw Elsewhere.
