This Love

Once like a magnificent Morning Glory

Opening herself to this only Sun

Glowing from her naive pedals

Sacrificing purity to bring happiness to that one

But seasons change

He morphed into a ball of fury

This once comforting warmth now beaming on high

Heat so immense those delicate pedals would wilt

Dimming day by day but her light still shined

Her love was leaving

So his air started to lighten

Blowing a cool breeze soothing her burns

While the leaves on that tree blocking his blows fell

Acceptance of abuse diminishing, forgiveness taking a turn

She was mistaken

That cool breeze turned icy

Freezing her fed up love to death

She had surrendered to this impossible battle

That beautiful flower had no fight left

And seasons continue

That love created a seed

With the same deadly trait as its mother

Why couldn't she have inherited another

Knowledge to carefully trust others

But No

Fate had made its decision

A need of attention from any other

So this destined cycle continues

That little flower's future is in trouble
