Once upon a time, at the beginning of time, there was a hummingbird. Bound by an eternal doubt, the hummingbird spent all it's life in the barren forest, waiting, wishing, in a forest of desolation, and discouragement. The humming bird forever lived in the dark forest off and always waited for happiness to come, waiting patiently, fluttering day and night, longing for light. It cried in the winter, and grew lonely in summers, desolate in mind, and hopeless in spirit, and has never seen happiness... until a brave butterfly ventured into the barren forest. The hummingbird couldn't help itself, and fluttered slowly by the butterfly. The hummingbird came close, feeling beauty and shine, fluttering the butterfly's wings away. It's pure beak brushed against the butterfly head, gentle and relieving, and the butterfly flew away, leaving the hummingbird behind. The hummingbird waited, and waited, sorrow growing in it's heart, and grew helpless as it watched the butterfly float away. And the hummingbird could not take it anymore. It's beauty gained the hummingbird's will, and it was bound and enforced tot the butterfly. The humming bird flew through branches, in dead bramble and forgotten flowers. It's tiny heart grew light, and beating in haste, but it didn't worry at all, for the hummingbird was careless. Until it's doubt came to play. The forest was it's only home, it's only security, it was discouraged at that moment. But it's heart only grew stronger, and with that strength, it flew, whizzing and fluttering, going against all instinct, only flying faster and faster. And it saw light. And it was free of doubt, and filled with hope, but the forest took it's hope for to give life, now the hummingbird was peeling away. It's skin turning to ash, slowly, but happy, and it was filled with joy. For it is better to hold a little hope than to hold nothing.
