"Hi" The boy with green eyes said. Connor, his name was Conner. Troye instantly felt a strange emotion deep inside his gut. He didn't know what it meant, and that scared him.
"Hi. My names Troye," Troye spoke out with less confidence than normal and looked over to find his father giving him a death stare. He looked back at Connor trying to act normal.
"So Troye. Why don't you take Connor up to your room while I finish up dinner," Troyes mom was almost shoving them up the stairs.
"Ok, fine mom," Troye mumbled.
After they got to the top of the stairs Troye lead Connor to the room at the end of the hall, which was his.
"Well, welcome to my room," he said as he opened the door. As soon as Connor stepped in, he let out a loud gasp.
"What! Is something wrong!" Troye was really worried about what Connor could see in his room. His eyes filled with worry he looked over at Connor who had eyes filled with curiosity.
"No,no, nothing's wrong. It's just so perfect." Connor replied to Troye.
"Oh," was all that Troye could say. His room was pretty normal. The walls were a light blue color with a white washed carpet. There was a single bed against the wall farthest from the door and a dresser adjacent to that. In one of the corners he had a desk and next to that he had a piano and recording equipment. The piano was covered in paper that he used for writing music. Then there were beanbags on the floor in random places."So do you want to sit"
"That would be nice." Connor plopped on one of the beanbags, giggling as he sunk all the way into it. Troye couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the sight. Connor looked around the room one more, drinking in every detail that he could. "So you write music." Connor asked after looking at the piano.
"Yea. Sometimes when I get bored or just want to write something down," Troye replied looking down at his shuffling feet blushing. He always got like this when someone asked him about his music.
"Do you think you could sing me some?" Connor asked timidly.
"Um, do you think that that could wait until another time?" Troye wasn't really into sharing his music. Not even Tyde had heard his songs.
Connor got a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Oh are you inviting me back to your house." Troye instantly blushed and looked back down. Connor just sat laughing on the beanbag.
"Boys, dinners ready." Troye's mother called from downstairs. The two growing boys barreled down the stairs each wanting to get food.
The rest of dinner was actually almost normal mostly consisting of the adults talking and the children just sitting quietly. Then dinner ended and Connor gave Troye a hug. It was the best hug Troye had had in awhile. It was warm and full of love. Like friendship love. Then Connor walked out the door and Troye was left smiling. Troye couldn't remember the last time he smiled like this.
But this was just the calm before the storm.
