"Where'd you get your hair, a ranch?"

"Buzz, Buzz, Buzz".

A sound I knew all too well. Waking up was kinda hard with a dog sprawled out on your back. But I wake up to it every morning so I should be used to it by now.

Get up, stretch, put on makeup, brush my teeth extra long because braces ruin lives, put on clothes, and maybe some deodorant. Make breakfast, maybe some lunch, did I pee yet? Walk the dog, feed the cat, grab my phone, brush my hair, and grab my bag ready to go.

Every morning, the same routine.

Walking to the bus stop I brace myself for the amount of conversation I'll have to put up with from Jack. Cursing myself for forgetting my headphones again.

Turning the corner and heading up the same street that I've learned like the back of my hand, I see the same elders coming out to check if they have mail even though they don't, the mothers who wear work out clothes to walk their dogs, and the other students sulking upon having to get up so early.

Other than this I also saw a moving truck and a stressed-out mother with a screaming baby looking as if she could, she'd rip her own hair out. Then a boy looking around twenty-three comes strolling out shirtless with sweats that fit nicely around his hips. I couldn't help but stare for a few seconds. Upon reaching his face I saw that he was not only cute, but he was staring right back with a slight smirk. Immediately I look away with a light pink tinting my cheeks.

Feeling quite flustered, I quickly made my way up the rest of the street and quickly crossing the intersection without looking. I heard a few honks but I ignored them making my way to my only friend at the bus stop, Jake.

Don't get me wrong, Jake is a great friend and really likes to help with my dramatic self, but he talks way too much for my liking.

"Jordan what the hell! You could have almost died!" Jake yells loudly causing others to shush him while not looking up from their precious phones.

"Calm down Jake. I'm alive aren't I?" I chuckle lightly looking at the empty bus stop.

"I see that," he sighed," but I've told you before, just because your morning sucks doesn't mean you have to die."

I rolled my eyes trying to get away from the conversation.

"Anyways," he begins, only for me to zone him out but nod along every once in a while to have him know I'm listening. As he finishes talking about his YouTube channel that will never become more than a hobby, I see Mr.shirtless come up to the entrance of my community before crossing with a little dog.

As he comes closer I pull out my phone so that he won't talk to me. Apparently, it wasn't me he was walking too as he had walked right passed me.

I quickly shoved my phone into my pocket when I heard the squeak of the school bus breaks approach quickly. I swear our driver thinks she's in Nascar.

Sitting in my regular seat, I wait for an unknown to sit next to me, but today it is the lovely Marissa. Marissa had not only gone out and slept with every boy in the school, she also bullies me on a daily basis. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say she's a slut or a whore but she does sleep around. I only know this because she screams about how great the whole baseball team is in bed.

"Jordan, horrible shirt where'd ya get it?" The beast asked chewing her gum obnoxiously loud. A few people chuckled at the horrible joke while others just weren't paying attention.

"Your Closet. Thought you'd recognize it but I guess I was wrong."

"Where'd you get the comeback, dummies 101?"

"Where'd you get your hair, a ranch?"

"I don't get it."

"Of course you don't Marissa." I sighed looking away, not really ever in the mood to talk to her.

"Oh, I was gonna ask if you've seen the latest guy I've been sleeping with." She said flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"I don't want to hear about your book of fuck buddies," I started wishing I had my headphones to escape her screechy voice. I don't know how she manages to screech like a bat so early in the morning.

" Oh come on, it's a good one." She smiled.

"Don't care."

"You will."

"Still don't care."

"It starts with a C."

"I will never care."

"Ends with an N."

"How many other ways can I say I don't care."

"Cameron."

I stop, feeling my heart freeze as I slowly turn to her. She wore a smirk, looking as if she accomplished something by saying this.

"Cameron, My Cameron," I say quietly.

"It looks like he isn't your Cameron anymore." She smiles as the bus comes to a stop, standing up and making her way off.

"It's okay Jordan, come on," Jake says helping me up and rubbing my back.

Cameron has been not only my best friend of four years but my boyfriend of almost two years. Of course, i wasn't ready to give up my virginity yet because I feel as if seventeen is just a little bit young, but going and having sex with an std infected whale is just pure desperation.

Still shocked from the news I see Cameron in the courtyard with his head resting on a take with people surrounding him. Ready to go up and punch a bitch in the face, I get held back and slightly more pissed off.

"You can't just yell and make a scene Jordan," Jake sighs looking down at me," just talk to him."

"Stay with me, yeah?" I say looking at him.

"Of course." He smiles, leading me to the table.

Someone must have said I was approaching because Cameron's head popped up and he looked as if he was going to cry.

"Jordan," he whispers," Jordan I'm so so so sorry."

"Cameron-" I say getting cut off.

"No, I'm so sorry baby. I was drunk and it meant nothing, I only ever wanted you, hell I will always just want you. Please forgive me." He says touching my face.

Not really wanting to see him cry, I back up away from his touch and clear my throat staring into his eyes.

"It's over Cameron," I state. He lets out a choked sob, as I feel my eyes begin to fill with tears as well. Looking around I see the people watching the show up close, and from afar. I notice that an old group of friends watching looking a little distraught.

Not wanting to be there anymore, I quickly turn on my heal making my way off campus and to the only place I like to go alone.

First chapter and I'm already exhausted. I know it was kind of boring but I just wanted a little backstory first.

1122 words.

I wanted to make it longer but I didn't want to drag it on anymore so I'm going to try and bring in the other main character in next chapter.

I hope you enjoyed.
