Riley's POV
It wasn't the first school dance I would be going to, it was the second. I wouldn't be going if it wasn't a masked ball. Nobody would know who I was.

"Hurry up, Riley! It doesn't take that long to put on a dress and a mask!" Screamed Maya.

"Farkle is gonna be there, I have to look good!" I replied

"Come on, Riles. You've had a crush on him since first grade. Are you wearing any makeup?" She asked

"In the words of Melanie Martinez, 'all the makeup in the world won't make me less insecure," I replied "so no"

"Okay, but if that mask falls off, your out of luck" she told me

"If I recall, Lucas (my best friend) told me I was beautiful without makeup" I said laughing, mocking her about HER crush

"Whatever," she said blushing, "come on, let's go"
So we left. When we arrived at the dance, it was amazing. So many girls in long dresses, so many guys in sharp tuxes. It was really dark besides the colorful lights that hung from the ceiling. That's when I saw him. Farkle. He looked amazing. He was in a black tux and dress shoes. He had his beanie on, which, in my opinion, didn't go with his outfit. But he still looked hot as hell.

"Riley, your staring. His girlfriend is gonna catch you," she told me, "and let's just say, Missy Bradford is very possessive."

"I know, but she's our best friend," I said, "so I'm gonna not try to beat the shit out of her when she dances with Farkle." I said laughing.

"Come on, let's get some drinks"
