The Secret of Jane

Moon up above

Jane
My name is Jane I live in a small town in western Mississippi. I live with my mom, dad, and two brothers. It all started the day I met Chad he is so sweet, he's kind and loving too. Oh and did I mention that I'm a hybrid. But let me start with how we met. It was a hot summer day and the ice-cream parlor was packed to the brim with customers. Just another normal day here at the shop I was at the register taking orders and having them seated when Polly came in.

Jennifer where is my ice-cream?" she yells at me getting my name wrong as usual. "hello earth to June where is my damn ice-cream?!"

"Polly quiet down and watch your language there are children about".

"excuse me miss but can I have one pint of mint chip, two pints of-" but he didn't get to finish because Polly interrupted him.

"we need two pints of mint chip chad's favorite, two pints of vanilla and four strawberry" she tells my bossily.

"okay hold on just a sec and I will go get that for you" I say looking at Chad with a smile and he returns it.

What I never noticed is that Chad smells like mint, juniper, and chlorine. He has a nice build with blue eyes and brown hair. I bet it's really soft you can kind tell though. I shake the thoughts away and get the ice-cream and bring it back.

"Here ya go that'll be thirty-three dollars please" I say to him. He stops as he goes to tack out his wallet and has a look of confusion on his face. "I thought that I was gonna have to pay eighty dollars for that?"

"Nope consider the mint chip and the vanilla on the house okay" I say to him sweetly. If I look in my peripheral vision I can see Polly fuming with anger. "Oh . . . thank you very much . . . miss"

"Jane" I say.

"alright miss Jane thank you again for the ice-cream" "Oh . . . wow thanks. Here you go" he says as he gives me the money with a shy smile and I return his smile with a bright one. "Have a nice day and come again soon" I say.

"Chad come on we have to go!" the Polly yells from the door. "Okay hold on Polls, I'll be right there!" then he turns to me. "I guess I'll see you around" he says and then leaves. the rest of the is uneventful.

Chad

As I walk in Polly is yelling at some poor girl at the register demanding to know where her ice-cream was. "Jennifer where is my ice-cream?" she yells. The girl just stands there with a blank look on her face.

"hello earth to June where is my damn ice-cream?!" she yells and the girl snaps out of whatever trance she was in just a minute ago.

"Polly quite down and watch your language there are children about" I tell her calmly and the girl visibly shivers. I don't know if it's 'cause of me or the AC cooling the parlor.
