!!!!!!  Trigger Warnings: Slight rape mention, abuse, suicidal thoughts, and cursing !!!!!!

Hi guys! This is my first story to write and one thing you should know is, I live for drama. So this story may seem a little over the top for some, but if you don't mind a bit of drama then you're welcome to stay along with me and the updates! Thank you!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

My breath came in short, loud puffs as I continued to sprint through the trees that littered the path ahead of me. I could feel the ground beneath my feet among the shards of rocks and tree bark slicing the pads of my sore feet. Clenching my fists, I tried to think of anything else besides the persistent pain I was receiving. My shoes were long forgotten about as I started my escape through the woods earlier. Okay Kova, think. Where would the nearest town be? My pulse now racing at the idea of not knowing which was I was going. What if I was running in circles? What there was no way out? What if I was stuck here? Nearly dodging a tree that almost his me in the face, I started to believe maybe thinking about other things was not such a smart idea. Escaping wasn't even an entirely smart idea to do.

Taking a slow, deep breath, I tried to force myself to go faster. I had to go, now or never, I had to get out of these woods now. My hyper sensitive ears could faintly pick up the sounds of his heavy running. My breathing hitched as I realized how close they were to me now. If I didn't phase into my wolf soon, he could catch up to me. Especially since I was in no condition to be running after seventeen years with him. Closing my eyes tightly, I took a giant breath and willed the part of me he kept so well hidden from the world to come alive. An audible yelp was heard throughout the forest around me as I was mid-shift and a foreign object barreled into my side from the right, causing me to slam against the base of a tree and land on the ground several feet away.

"Shit, fuck.. Where did you even come from? Are you okay?" I heard a desperate female voice yell at me from above. Above? Why was I looking up? Black spots were now entering the sides of my vision as I tried to make some form of communication. All that came out of my mouth was silence and I mentally tried to get a hold of myself. I felt a sticky, wet substance slide down my temple. What's going on? What was I doing here? I felt stunned, to say the least. Trying to move slightly, a rippling pain in my side caused me to scream loudly. The injury he had given to me last night had ripped open on my side, which was now bleeding heavily onto the leaves and dirt beneath me. The black spots were growing more abundant now as I continued to struggle against the pain, ignoring the stranger staring worriedly at me from above.

"Kova, I know I'm catching up to you. I can smell your sweet scent, darling. Is somewhere there with you, my love?" A sickly, sweet voice rang through the forest, causing the hair on my body to rise. Oh, oh no. Suddenly, everything came back at once about the situation I was in. Fuck, I'm losing ground quickly. The unknown female instantly looked fearful at the sound of his voice and quickly backed away from me. I could sense her trembling body over where I was and yearned to reach out to her, to help me, to save me. Knowing this could very well be my last chance at any survival, I mustered up every single ounce of strength I had left in my condition and managed to let out a soft, hoarse whisper.

" Please...h-help.."

I felt all my strength give away suddenly at that small form of communication. Closing my eyes, the last thing I saw was her terrified expression and her electrifying green eyes staring directly into my extremely dark brown eyes.

Now, I really was alone in this darkness.

------------------------------------------------------

Who knows if that stranger had saved me? In all honesty, who really cares. I was left alone with my thoughts in this peaceful darkness. I don't know what's worse, my deadly thinking or my inability to feel any part of my body right now. I'm judging the latter should be my main worry. However, why should I care? He probably has me right now, not her. Suddenly, her bright green eyes entered my mind and I felt a small tug at my heart to see them again.

She was the only other person I had seen for seventeen years.

She was hope, she was help.

Suddenly, a burning sensation erupted from my head and I tried to move and scream with all my might, but still nothing. I couldn't do a thing about this searing pain inside my head, which was now moving down my body in waves.

I could feel my wolf whimpering inside of me and I had to mentally breathe in and out. This way maybe she could sense it's going to be okay. It will be right?

Do I, in all truthfulness, care if it is?

The burning sensation increased and now I couldn't help but only focus on that. I'm sure when I see my body after this it will have burns and scarring everywhere. This is probably his doing. He's probably getting a kick out of this, watching me scramble for my life, watching me toss around in pain. He's probably going to take me after this too, right? I was mentally sneering the best I could through all this fucking pain.

Suddenly, just as fast as it arrived, it subsided. Thank God. Immediately, without meaning to, I opened my eyes. I almost wish I hadn't, because I was blinded by bright, white lights everywhere. Where am I? I started to panic, this is too different. If I'm not home, where am I then? My breathing started to increase rapidly and I could hear a beeping speed up as well. Just now realizing the beeping, I sat up instantly and tried to look around to see where it was coming from. At first my eyes weren't adjusting to the room around me and this caused me to panic even more. What's wrong? Why can't I see right? I tried to scream, but all that came out was a painful croak. Help me! Where am I? The beeping felt like it was getting louder and faster and I couldn't take it. Everything was too much at once. The beeping was now screaming inside my mind. Grabbing hold of my head, I began sobbing loudly and trying to scream for help. Anyone, please!

The door burst wide open and several men rushed in heading towards me. I immediately tried to defend myself from any one of them laying a hand on me. Who are they? Why are they here? They're going to hurt me. I have to run, I have to-

I felt a stinging in my arm and suddenly felt relaxed. I didn't like this. What's going on? They're going to kill me. I tried to will myself to stop whatever is happening, but my whole body felt like lead. Someone else had entered the room during my breakdown, I've now noticed her.  Her.

Her green eyes shone brightly in the sun and I couldn't help but stare at her in my paralyzed state. Walking towards me slowly, my mind started racing once again. Please don't touch me. Please leave me. Please stop walking towards me.

'Go away!', I wanted to scream at her. I could do nothing, I was helpless once again. Useless. At this time, the other men had left, leaving just me and her in this room. My eyes started to droop, causing my sight to become blurry in the process. Very softly, I could hear her shushing me as if I was a child. I could just make out her reaching out for my hand and I immediately tried to yank it away, but it was no use taking in consideration whatever those strange men had just done to me. Expecting the touch to be harsh and rough against my skin, I closed my eyes tightly, preparing myself for the worse. Instead, all I received was a slight pressure on my hand and a feeling of warmth and yearning spread through my body. This feeling had felt so calming, and so relieving at the same time. It made me want to snuggle in it.

My wolf then uttered two words that shattered the warm aura that was engulfing me.

"Our Mate."

With that, my eyes had given in to the darkness that overcame me once more, except this time it was peaceful.
