Chapter 2, Page 2

As soon as John was gone, I finished packing and immediately flew of towards the Dark Forest, the first stop on the map. I had no intention of letting John tag along and getting himself hurt. He's all I have left. I can't let him die too. I thought.

"I knew it!"

"Wha-?!" I was so startled that I stopped flapping my wings, and I started falling. I quickly regained my composure and starting flapping my silky wings again. I then looked down and sighed. I should have know he wouldn't fall for my trick.

I flew down and landed before John.

"I knew you would try to leave me behind!" He shouted, pointing an accusing finger at me.

"Look...John, I'm sorry, but I don't want you risking your life for my sake!"

"Lillith, I don't want to do this just for you. I want revenge for Erik, too! And I can't let you run off on your own! I know you can fight, but that doesn't make you immortal! I'm coming with, whether you want me to or not!" And with that, John reached behind a tree and grabbed a bag. He hefted it over one shoulder and turned to me.

"John, I-" John reached up and pressed a finger to my lips.

"Lillith, I know your worried, but don't be. I can protect you and myself. I'm more then capable. So please, just let me do this." With that, he lowered his finger and started walking towards the Dark Forest. I just stood there, stunned. I felt my cheeks getting warm. My heart was pounding.

I never told anybody this, but I'd always had a crush on John. I've had a crush on him ever since I first met him, in the Emerald Forest...
