Chapter Two
•then•
"It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life, for me, and I'm feeling good" I continued to wash my pale skin with my watermelon shower gel as I screamed out the lyrics to one of my favourite songs.
Ten minutes later, after I had finally finished shaving, without cutting myself for the first time ever, I wrapped myself in my towel and sat on the edge of my new bed. Which was in my new room. With was in my new house. In my new town. Holmes Chapel. And today was the first day of sixth form (collage) at St.Andrews.
And I was absolutely shitting it.
I decided to wear my dark skinny jeans, a baggy cream jumper, my pink fluffy socks and my new brown boots. I let my hair naturally fall, just brushing it, and added a bit of mascara and eye liner and I was done.
I had my normal two slices of brown toast with butter on, with a glass of orange juice. I put on the TV and turned to ITV1 to watch daybreak.
"A teenage boy was found cut in half in the town halls front water fountain in Holmes Chapel. The boy has yet to be named. The police still do not know who the murderer is either but we are told to tell to all locals to stay calm but to be cautious."
I dropped my spoon in my bowl full of rice crispies. "What the f-"
"Melissa Aria Burke, it's monday morning I do not need any faul language to make my day anymore shit"
"Dad you just swore though"
"Shut up and eat your cheerios"
"I can't" I said smirking.
"And why not?"
"Because these are rice crispies" my smirk grew as he huffed in annoyance. He grabbed his coat and brown messanger bag, said goodbye, and left for his work. Which he hated.
After breakfast I gathered my backpack from topshop and left for my first day. The new house we had moved to was only 10 minutes walking distance away from the school, so obviously I walked to school in the breezy summer air.
When I got to St.Andrews I saw my new peers scuttling across the cracked concrete pavement. The sound of titter tattering shoes, ignorant gossip, and buzzing of phones reverberated through my ears as I made my way to the head teachers office, which was where I was told to visit when I first arrived.
A thick ebony door with the gold platted sign saying "Mr. Jones, Head Teacher", stood at the end of the hallway. I walked towards it only to hear arguing.
"Do you not understand how your stupid mistakes lead to another one"
"Oh sorry for falling asleep after 5 days of constant watching"
"You are meant to be protecting people"
"Well maybe if you let me sleep in the day I would of stayed awake"
"You have school to attend"
"I don't give a fuck about school"
"Well you should Mr.Styles"
"Oh so we're on last name basis again?"
"For the love of god harry, shut up, go to your lessons and I hope you know his blood is on your hands."
The door opened and I diverted my eyes from the door to the floor and found a sudden intrest in my boots. I decided to walk to the door to go in when I bumped into a warm body.
"Sorry I didn't-" I said as two glorious, glittering green eyes stared into my blue ones.
"It's nothing" he said in a low, husky voice before barging passed and walking away from me.
I didn't get much time to take in his features, but those unique eyes will definately make him stand out.
I walked into the room to see a frantic middle aged man in a black trousers and blue buttoned up shirt pacing back and fourth. "Erm, hello?" I said nervously.
"You must be Aria, please take a seat."
I obeyed and sat down on the brown leather mini sofa which was placed infront of a huge ebony desk. This school must be founded by someone really rich. My old school was nothing in comparison.
"Welcome to St.Andrews, I believe you will be starting in Yr 12."
(going by british schooling system as I don't know anyone else's lol)
"Yes" I responded quietly.
"Well here is your timetable and Mary is outside by the front desk and she is in all your classes and will help to navigate to them. I hope you have a pleasant first day." He smiled sweetly, but it was obvious he was hiding his nervousness. But for a reason, I did not know.
I walked back on my tracks to see a short blonde with deep blue eyes smiling at me. She seemed alright.
"Hey you must be aria" she said cheerfully. Way too cheerfully for a monday morning.
"Hey you must be mary" I mimicked.
"Well we have media studies first with Mr.Faye but first we have a free period so we can just chill in the common room." I replied with a simple ok and followed her to what I assumed was the common room.
Around the room were numerous different sofa's being all different sizes and colours. A few computers at the sides, desks and a Tv at the front of the room.
Mary sat down on a blue and white striped sofa and I sat next to her. On the sofa opposite sat a boy with those unique eyes. I think his name was Barry, or Larry definately something with an 'arry' in. And just my luck he spotted me trying to remember his name.
"Harry, my name is harry" he said simply.
"Aria"
"Nice to meet you" he said typing away on his phone clearly not giving a shit about me. How polite. I decided for the next hour or so I would just go on m phone and try and get pass the 65th level on candy crush.
When an hour had passed Mary guided me to the main block to room 11 on the middle floor. We walked into class and I said hello to my teacher before he directed me to my seat. There was an empty chair next to me and I was wondering if it would be occupied. I do prefer working alone because then I actually concentrate, but I don't want to seem like a loser on the first day too.
The class had started 10 minutes ago and I was still along at the back. Then an angry Harry bursted through the door.
"Well good morning to you Mr.Styles" Mr.Faye reguarded. Harry ignored his annoyed tone and walked to the back. To exactly where I didn't want him to sit. Next to me. He just sat down an I could feel his anger burning off of him. It was terrifying to be next to him when he was so annoyed. I wonder what angered him so much.
"Don't fucking ask me whats wrong 'cause I won't fucking tell you ok?" He said in a very low voice. The coldness sent tingles through my body.
"Ok" I said like a puppy whimpering when he gets told off. Harry intimidated me.
When the bell went after an hour of pure awkward silence, Harry ran out of class, not caring who it what he bumps into. He was a mystery. And one I do not plan on unravelling.
The rest of the day I was either in the common room playing candy crush and listening to music or was in the only other class I had, Psychology. Thankfully harry wasn't in that class. Well if he was meant to, he didn't show up.
I walked through the cold summers air. Two words that contradict eachother, yet somehow in Britain, they're a perfect match, while day dreaming about this cute blonde guy I saw walk into Psychology late. He sits two seats to the right of me. And he was cute but hot. I can't remember his name. But damn I will remember his face.
As I turned my heel to walk into the alley way to get to my room, I felt a firm hand grip my shoulder blade as a cold low voice whispered in my ear, "scream and I'll make sure that's the last thing you'll ever do"
A/n I dunno if im gunna add the other boys into this story yet, the blonde boy isn't niall, well unless you want me to make him niall?
