"Lu! For the love of all things cute, stop straying from the path!" I shouted to the pint-sized pain in my rear end as she scurried off yet again towards some bushes.

"But I was quite certain I had spotted that tedious troublemaker William....or at least one of his lackeys...." Lu started pouting as she half stomped, half marched back over to me.

Maybe I should start over.

My name is Ciel. I was once human, like you. (At least I HOPE you're human)

And the Lu came along and.......

Ugh.....

Things....'happened.'

Now I've been resurrected as Lu's half demon butler, a role she NEVER let me forget. Today, we're doing Ruben Village Chief Hagus a favor. A race of mouse-like creatures called the Phorus have been getting braver and bolder in their mischievous exploits. At first they were relatively harmless, stealing a crate of apples here, a weapon or too there; but as of late, they have been dabbling into more sinister, even dangerous activities.

Supposedly, a thug by the name of Banthus had struck up a deal with the leader of the Phorus, William. This deal involved stealing the sacred El Stone that provided life and vitality to all of Ruben Village, so it's removal would spell disaster for the townsfolk. Having no warriors among them, and since Lu and I happened to be passing through at the time, Hagus had asked for our assistance. Naturally, we accepted, though for reasons other than the obvious. Besides the money we were promised, which was minimal at best, we were hoping to come across the El Search Party.

What is the El Search Party?

According to Lu, they were our (more like 'her') only hope of regaining her rightful place in the demonic realms. See, the whole reason I am HER butler and not the other way around (besides the fact that you don't call females 'butlers') is that she is-well, WAS a prominent demon monarch. But a gang of rival demons tricked her into giving her demonic throne, and the majority of her powers up.

Back to the El Search Party:

The first member is Elsword. He is a young, amateur swordsman in search of his older sister, the Captain of the Red Velder Knights, Elesis.

The second is Aisha, a magician who is similar to Lu in many ways.

They're both, short, sassy girls; neither ever think that they're wrong, and neither of them EVER listen to ANYone else.

The third and final member is an elf named Rena, whom I myself am very curious about. Lu knows next to nothing about her, besides the fact that she is a champion archer even among her own people.

That's quite attractive if you ask me-

"CIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!" A shriek from Lu interrupts my wandering mind. "THERE IS A LIZARD ON MY SKIRT!!!" She clenched her fists and her lips quivered as she looked up to me. "Well? What are you gawking at? GET IT OFF ME!" I sighed and without another word took out one of my prized gunblades and flicked the thing off of her. She scoffed and brushed her skirt down. "Took you long enough. Honestly," she said, her voice dripping with drama, "I swear, I don't know WHATEVER I shall do with you Ciel! Oh, your absentmindedness knows no bounds!" She put the back of her hand to her forehead, trying to convey the fact that she was totally and utterly distressed.

"Lu, please, calm down, it was just a lizard. You're not hurt." I said. She half rolled her eyes.

"You majesty shouldn't have had a lizard on her in the FIRST PLACE!" She said as she stood on her tippy-toes trying to slap me. Eventually she gave up and turned on her heels while crossing her arms. "A TRUELY loyal servant would have sliced the monster in half if it so much as walked in my direction! Whereas you-"

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" A battle cry interrupted her as a giant phoru wearing some kind of kilt ran past us.

"I'M SORRY, I WON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!!" The creature started sobbing as it kept running away. Lu's eyes lit up.

"THAT'S WILLIAM!" She cried. "AFTER HIM!" I didn't need to be told twice. I unsheathed my second gunblade and started after the cowardly villain, Lu close behind with her demonic claws out and ready for action. William turned his head back.

"What did I do to YOU two?!" He kept on crying. "Why is everyone so MEAN to me?!"

"We just want to ask you some questions!" I shouted, trying to be reasonable. William made a noise akin to an infant vomiting.

"That's what Banthus said when he got my roped into this mess!" William whined. Obviously talking wasn't going to work, not like this, so I held up one of my muskets up, took careful aim, and shot a bullet towards one of William's feet.

"OOOOOWIIIIIIIIIIIE!!!!!!" He fell to the ground, hugging his foot. "That huuuuuuurt!!! You're a bigger meanie than Banthus!" While that was probably a bigger insult than I took it, I remained indifferent.

"Like I said, we just want to ask you a few questions." Lu and I slowed our pace until we had caught up to where William was writhing in pain on the ground.

"Excellent work Ciel! I always knew you were the most loyal servant of all time." She said, putting a hand on her chest. "I really am the best aren't I?"

"In the sense that you're directly contradicting what you had said earlier." I said in my head, slightly rolling my eyes. Out loud I said, "now Mister William, could you tell us-"

"Hey! You got him!" I was interrupted yet again by the same voice that had sent William our direction. Lu and I looked back to see a young boy with spiky red hair. The sword he brandished was nearly as big as he was, which could only mean-

"Elsword! Why did you send him running like that?? I nearly had him!!!" A high pitched voice chimed in as a girl clad in purple came from out of the forest. She walked up to Elsword and whapped him on the head with the wand she held in her right hand.

"YOU missed entirely and left it up to me to keep him from escaping!" Elsword said, scratching his head.

"Well a lot of good THAT did! If it weren't for these two, we'd still be chasing him!" Aisha retorted.

"Well it's a good thing one of us runs fast, otherwise he WOULD'VE escaped!"

"What are you trying to-"

"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP!" The two arguing kids, as well as Lu and myself looked over to where the booming, terrifying voice had come from. Some bushes rustled and a green haired elf came out with an angry look on her face. She opened her mouth as if she were about to scold Elsword and Aisha, but then she noticed Lu and I standing nearby. Her facial expression and tone immediately changed from rage and anger, to an almost motherly happiness. "Oh hello! I'm sorry about these two, they don't get along very well." She walked over to Lu and I and offered a hand. "My name is Rena, these two are Elsword and Aisha." She giggled before proclaiming, "we are the El Search Party!"
