Nightmares - Derek

I watched in horror as the scene went down. Kali and Ennis burst into the loft, Ennis easily taking down me and Cora as Derek tried to protect us from Kali's wrath as well. Then - it happened - and Derek suddenly had a pole through him. I screamed out of pure horror and sadness. The pole was shoved far into the ground as Deucalion came in just to taunt him. Derek gasped and blood fell out of his mouth.

"Who knows if it's five minutes or five hours? You could never know when it's to late to take this thing out," He says, taunting. "We'll leave that to you to figure out. If you survive this, You have until the next full moon, Derek. Not any longer," The alphas leave and I scramble over to Derek, trying to figure out how to get the pole out. I pull on it hopelessly, trying to get it out of the concrete ground. Cora helps - but it's no use. One weak betas strength was no match for an alpha. Especially one in an alpha pack. I kneel down in front of my boyfriend, cupping his face as he gasped for air.

"Derek...?" I whimper. "Tell us how to get it out? Can we lift you off of it? Will it hurt?" I whimper, getting quieter.

"D-Don't bother. I can feel it. I can feel death coming. Moving it will just make it worse..." He whispers, his breathing speeding up.

"Derek...?! Don't give up on me!" I whimper as Cora got out her phone.

"I-I love you," he says, reaching one hand up to pull my face closer. He kisses me. Slow and passionately, like it was our last one. And it was. He stopped breathing and collapsed as he pulled away. Cora dropped her phone, and dropped to her knees, sobbing. I sobbed along with her, not being able to contain my tears. I tried to pull him up and I hopelessly tried to convince myself he was still alive. I sobbed into him, slowly accepting the fact he was gone forever. 

I woke up crying, gasping for air. My hands flail out to keep me sitting up right. One hand lands on empty sheets, the other on a strong arm. I hear a groan. I look over to see Derek, his eyes slowly peeling open. He sees my crying and shoots up fast, slightly wincing.

"Hey, Hey, babe. What's wrong?" He coos. The only thing I do in response is hug him, burying my face in his chest.

"Thank God you're okay!" I cried. 

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine," he whispers. "What happened?"

"I-I had a dream. Th-at when you were fighting Kali, y-you died," I whimper.

"Kali was killed by Jennifer. We don't have to worry about her. And I didn't die. I survived having that pole through me," he says, adding a little laugh at the end. I smiled into him as he lays down, taking me with him. His strong arms wrapped tightly around me. I nuzzled closely to him before leaning up and giving him a quick kiss. He gladly kisses back.

"I love you," he whispers.

"I love you, too, Derek," I whisper back. I fell asleep happy, wrapped in my boyfriend's embrace.
