Kai leaned against the stone wall of the ninja team's base, his arms folded across his chest. He held his Technoblade in his hand. He'd rather be doing anything than standing outside the base. ANYTHING. He just didn't want to be out here. He stared out at the forest, the green trees painting a baren green land. Kai muttered something under his breath. He then slammed his Technoblade against the stone wall. The golden weapon made a satisfying CLANG!  as it hit the stone wall. Kai smirked. Maybe some things were better than others. At least, in most cases.

He turned his attention to a figure moving in the forest. Kai stepped forward, pointing his Technoblade in front of him, pulling his mask over his mouth. "Whoever's there, I'm a trained Spinjitzu Master!" the young master of fire shouted, his eyes darting to and fro, trying to find the figure. Was he imagining it? He didn't see anything... but he sensed something was definitely there. "Who's there?!" the fire elemental shouted, a dreadful feeling in his stomach. He was scared, but he didn't want to let his opponent know that he was starting to get scared.

The bushes rustled. Kai span around to face the bushes. His instincts told him to run, or shout out insults. He ignored both urges and focused on the one that told him to fight. "Re-LAX, hothead. It's just me." A familiar voice said. The voice's owner stepped from the bushes. Kai was both disappointed and a bit relieved, along with surprised.  It was only his little sister Nya.

Kai sighed, letting his arm (and his Technoblade) fall to his side as he pulled down the mask. "Sis, what are you doing out here? It's dangerous now that the Nindroids might know where we are..." Kai said, barely having the ability to face his own sister, he was so embarrassed. "I know. That's why I brought some of my Samurai X  shurikens. Kai, I'm not helpless. We both know that..." Nya reminded her brother.

Kai sighed. He was highly aware that his sister was not helpless. "I know you're not. It's just that..." Kai said, his voice trailing off as he said it. Nya cocked her head at her older brother. "What? What is it, big brother?" she asked, staring at her brother. Kai signed and stared at his sister. "It's just...I want you to be okay, and I want you to be safe. It's been hard to grasp that you're not a helpless child anymore. since Mom and Dad died..." Kai trailed off again, the message he was trying to convey clear to his sister.

Nya walked up to him and put her hand on his shoulder. "Kai, I understand..." Nya told her older brother. Kai wiped away a tear from his eyes. The siblings were silent for a while.

Finally, Kai looked at his sister. She looked into his soft, caring eyes. Suddenly, he pulled her in for a hug. Nya tried to get away from her brother's grip, but eventually just calmed down and let her brother hug her, with her head resting on his chest.
