*Trigger Warning*

"Grace!" Mom yelled.

"Yes'm?"

"Your brother wants to sleep in your other bed."

"But it's my bed! I- I was planning on finishing my book tonight!"

"You are being selfish."

"Selfish?! How!"

"He is your brother! If you don't let him then you wont do anything this weekend."

"My god okay." Get your ass in my damn bed Jack. I thought to myself- all I want to do is finish my book. That's a lie actually. That wasn't the only thing I had planned for tonight. I will carry him into his room after he falls asleep. I don't understand why I give into my mom so easily- not just my mom, but everyone.

I usually don't have anything planned for the weekends but this one was different. Emily was coming over. She meant so much to me but I could never tell her that. She saved my life. Not like she knows.

"Get in bed." I said to Jack. His little nine year old head ran up the stairs and jumped in my bed. He woke up my cat- brendon purrie. Now that is not okay. I was already mad but you don't wake up my cat.

"Turn the lights off Grace."

"I want to read."

"Turn them off!"

"Okay okay!"

I turned them off and sat in one of my twin beds for an hour before going into the bathroom. I walked into my closet and lay down on the floor. I could read here. So I did. I read. I didn't get to finish my book that night because a shiny pencil sharpener caught my eye. I walked downstairs to try and find the screwdriver. It was always in the same place so it wasn't hard to find. I slowly opened the drawer, being careful not to wake anyone up at eleven at night, and made my way upstairs.
