Sofi jumped on the guy holding Rachel's legs. It would have been funny if it weren't for the messed up situation they were currently in. Amara took Sofia's lead and tackled the second man that still held Rachel. All three of them fell in a mess of tangled limbs. Amara tried prying the man's hands off of Rachel but someone yanked her hair and pulled her back.
"Who the fuck do you think you are bitch," a third man, probably the driver, shouted in her ear.
"Your mom clearly had no manners," Amara grunted out. She blamed her newfound bravery on the adrenaline. The man threw her to the ground. She could feel where her hands and knees were going to scab over. She ignored the burn and flipped around; stumbling backwards as he tried to straddle her. She kicked out her foot and got him in the general groin area. She would laugh if fear was not slowly slipping in. She managed to stand, but as soon as she made to run he grabbed her ankle and pulled.
Everything blanked for a second. White hot pain shot up her leg! Time ceased to exist as she laid face down on the floor. It couldn't have been more than a few seconds but it felt far longer. She tried lifting herself up, which turned out to be a bad idea as a sharp and unbearable amount of pressure soared through her ankle and up her leg. She tried calming her breathing, but the throbbing in her foot wasn't helping.
It took a couple of minutes before she got her breathing under control. It took seconds to realize that she was hearing a lot more noise than previously. As she realized that the evil turd she had just been trying to get away from was not touching her anymore, she flipped on to her back. The sight that greeted her was unexpected, to say the least. Where there had previously just been the three men, there were now three more. What was more disturbing was the fact that she recognized one. A few yards off to the side, Colton, Rachel's brother was beating up the man that had originally tried to grab Rachel. Rachel stood a few feet behind them. She seemed to be composing herself.
A loud crash made Amara pay attention to the situation in front of her. The evil turd was fighting stranger #1. Stranger #1 had dirty blonde hair and if his back was anything to go by, quite the physique. Stranger #1 had ET ( Evil Turd) in a headlock.
He kept shouting, "who sent you?" over and over.
They kept moving around. ET was unrelenting in trying to get away, which led Amara's gaze to Sofi. Sofi was a crumpled up mess leaning against the back tire of a different car that had not been there before the second set of men had arrived. Two more men, one of the kidnappers and Stranger #2, were rolling around in front of her and they were not holding their punches.
Seeing Sofia almost unconscious spurred Amara into action. She had to get to Sofi and they had to get out of there. They had to get help. She looked around for something to help her stand but the nearest object was a dumpster. It smelled funky, but desperate times called for desperate measures. As soon as the smallest of pressure was put on her ankle, a sharp jolt of pain ran up her entire leg. It took a few tries, but she eventually got to an upright position. She let out a relieved breath of air and a literal fist pump. Her celebration was cut short as a shot went out.
The way her head shot up, you would think she had dislocated her head (if that were possible). She turned to look for the source and found the two men that had been fighting in front of Sofi no longer fighting. In fact, they were no longer moving. It seemed like forever when in reality just a second had passed before Stranger #2 was standing and running over to Sofi.
The shot distracted Amara but her attention quickly fixated back on the men that had been fighting in front of her as ET freed himself. ET had somehow managed to get away and in the process of doing so kicked Stranger #1 backwards. ET pulled out a gun and aimed it at Stranger #1.
For the second time that day, Amara acted without thinking and thrust herself at Stanger #1. A second later another shot rang out.
