Heartstrings in Brooklyn

Hey, thanks for deciding to read Heartstrings in Brooklyn. I hope you enjoy it and bare with me as we go on the journey together through this book. I apologise if there are any grammatical errors throughout the book, please try to ignore them. Also, whilst the story is set in Brooklyn, (USA) I am British myself and so I hope not to include too many stereotypes or anything like that. I hope this isn't too cliché for anybody, but I have had this story in my head for a while and it is my first book. I just figured it was time to get pen to paper and see where this story ends up. That being said, enjoy.
Also, I don't Think that I'll include a cast, I kind of want it to be to your guys imagination what the characters look like/ who they are with the few details given within the book. It's more enjoyable that way I think:)

When I was only twelve years old, my family and I all moved to the US so that my parents could pursue their business plans, of which they never cease to stop revolving their lives around. All they do is work and have trips, leaving myself and Brogan alone, they're barely home and when they are they're in the office, it sucks but I'm used to it by now.  Moving meant myself and my older brother Brogan had to move our own lives.  For me, being twelve at the time, didn't find it too hard since I was only just starting high school in the UK anyway, so I'd already lost friends. But for Brogan, it was different, he was seventeen at the time and he had plans to be a teacher, he would finish college then attend university and live his life as planned, but moving made it harder and he decided that he would simply become a sports coach working within a gym local to where we live in Brooklyn. That is where he met his best friend of the last 5 years, Alex, they are so close, and they might as well be brothers. I'm not sure what they'll both do with their futures, they seem so content working in the gym. I on the other hand, am the cliché of the family, or at least that's what I call myself. I am an aspiring musician. Singing and playing the guitar and the occasional bit of piano is my life. I honestly don't know what I'd do without music. I listen to pretty much every sort of music too, I'm not picky, I find it all so unique, everyone has different styles and tastes and I love it. Getting signed would be a dream, but that's far-fetched as my parents always point out to me. But Brogan appreciates it, we are so close, he's there for me more than my parents, considering he's only twenty two and I'm only seventeen, almost eighteen though. Only a five year age gap but he's a parent and brother to me, and I'd be lost without him.

Authors notes:

Ahhhh, okay so this was just a short introduction giving a little bit of information about the main characters, the setting and their lives just so that you know where they stand in the current day of the story. I know this is short and not overly exciting so far but it will be just you wait and see!
