"Lilia Blair! If you are not up dressed and ready to get on the bus in 5 minutes you'll be grounded until you graduate!" I heard my mother yell.
Mumbling a few curse words I get up and hurry to get dressed. I bet they forgot my birthday again. They forget everything that has to do with me.
For example, my speech on the importance of family interaction back in sixth grade..... Ironic isn't it?
As I walk down the stairs I hear my parents arguing, so being the nosy girl I am, I wait at the for of the stairs and listen.
"What are we gonna do about her?" My mother questions.
"What do you mean? There's nothing wrong with her! Just leave her be." My father exclaims.
"Do you really not see it?! That thing upstairs is not our daughter! She hasn't been every since that boy left!"
" I thought we agreed that we wouldn't ever bring him up. It was your idea to continue on as if her heart wasn't shattered by Nick!"
I felt a pang in my chest when my father said his name. I don't even understand why they're talking about this. Right as I decide to make myself known I hear my mother began to speak again so I wait.
"I've already decided to have her institutionalized so don't even try to argue! She needs help! Can't you see that?"
"Yes but she needs help from her family not a group of strangers who don't know or understand her!"
"We don't know her Tom! We don't understand her! I already have scheduled to take her after school today and that's final!"
Of course, my mother wants to get rid of me.....I'm not perfect enough for her. I should feel sad, mad, or betrayed but I don't. I just feel numb,I never knew how dangerous this feeling was until now.
