Harry’s POV

Well, shit. She left me. Again.

Just as I was about to pull out my phone to text Charlotte, Zayn jumps through the window scaring me half to death.

“You know, you could always knock.” I laugh, grabbing some cereal out of the pantry.

“Yeah, but this is a lot more fun.” Zayn says with a smirk and sits on the couch.

“So how’d your night go?” I shouldn’t have even asked. I already know exactly how it went. After Charlotte and I left, him and Riley probably dry humped each other on the dance floor for a while, then retreated back to her place for some uber kinky sex.

“Well you and Char left pretty early.” He winks. “But then I just went back to their place with Riley.” Exactly what I thought. “What happened with you guys?”

Shit, I haven’t really thought this out. Do I tell him? I wonder if Charlotte is telling anyone, especially Riley. I decide against it.

“We walked in on her boyfriend with some other girl.”

                “Ouch.”

“Yeah. So then she had a meltdown and I took her back to my place.”

“And…” Zayn says hopefully. It’s funny how everyone knows my feelings for Charlotte except her.

                “And nothing, man.” I lie.

“Alright, if you say so.” Zayn says rolling his eyes.

Just then, my phone rings, telling me I have a text. It’s Charlotte.

*Hey, I feel bad about leaving the way I did this morning.*

I quickly respond back.

                *No worries. Are you okay?*

Waiting for her text, Zayn flips on the TV.

Five minutes later, I’m half indulged in the show Zayn has on, half checking my phone every ten seconds to see if Charlotte has replied. She hasn’t. I’m beginning to think that she thinks last night was just a mistake. A drunken situation that would never ever happen if she wasn’t such an emotional wreck. I hope she doesn’t think I took advantage of her. Shit.

I tell Zayn I need to make a call and excuse myself to my bedroom. I find her number in my contacts and press CALL.

“Hey.” She sounds distant, like she’s busy. I don’t care, I need to talk to her.

“Listen, Charlotte. I know last night was crazy, but I don’t want you to think that I took advantage of you. I would never in a million years do anything— “

“Harry I need to call you back. I’m with Connor.” She says.

My heart nearly breaks. Why would I ever think that we could be something? We’ve been friends for nearly ten years, why get my hopes up now? I’m pathetic.

I hang up.
