Rae (pronounced like Ray)
It was currently 11:35 pm at night. I was mindlessly walking through the small forest that's by the towns liquor store. I took a drink of the random beverage I bought from the gas station next to the liquor store. I have my first day of freshman year tomorrow and honestly I'm terrified. I already knew I was going to be the school loner. I don't have many friends besides the old lady who gives me cookies for bringing her mail to her house. But that doesn't count. I slowly tiptoe up the front porch stairs hoping not to make a sound. I open the door as quietly as I can but because of how old the damn house was it made a low creaking sound. I mumbled a few curse words to myself. I hear a small grunt coming from the couch., I mentally slap myself for even coming back. I have to suffer the wrath of my step "dad." I try heading to my room without being noticed but then I hear "Get your ass over here." I sigh knowing what's coming. "Where've you been Rae?" I look away from the tired angry eyes burning into my head. "I got lost on my way home from the store, I'm sorry it won't happen again." I mumble. "Sorry isn't going to cut it, now come here." I squeeze my eyes shut walking forward to where he was. I felt his arm snake around my waist bringing me in between his hairy legs. I smell the alcohol on his breath. His hand slowly got closer to my butt and I felt a pinch. I jumped and almost yelped but he clasped his hand around my mouth. "Be a good girl now." I felt a small tear roll down my cheek knowing it's useless to try to fight back. This Is my life and nothing's ever going to change. The pain is always going to be there, might as well get used to it.
Sorry short chapter, but this was just to show you what Rae's life Is like. The next chapters will introduce people and tell more about Rae.
