Gloomy days

For most people days are typically pretty happy. But, there are always those days that are gloomy, sad, and depressing. Everyone has days like that. But for April it was the complete opposite. Everyday was gloomy. But, there were those few days that were happy days. There weren't many of those days though. Up until now April had always been that girl who was always sad. Miserable even. Then things started to change. It was completely unexpected.

April got up as her alarm clock went off. She started to get ready for school. When she awoke it was already raining outside. Days like these were her favorite. She just loved the dark clouds, the gloominess, and the smell if the rain. After about 45 minutes April was ready for school and was just about to leave. When her mom said "April just where do you think your going?"

"Um...I'm going to school?" Said April with question in her voice.

"With it raining like that i don't think so." Replied her mother.

"Can I just please walk?" Asked April very convincingly.

"Well I guess that I don't care. Now that it's not pouring anymore." Said April's mom while rolling her eyes.

So after that talk April opened the front door and set out into the rain. In reality the rain wasn't that bad. I mean yeah it was raining but it wasn't pouring. After about 10 minutes of walking April arrived at her school. North East High School. Once she spotted her friends she rushed over. Then the talking started. Life was good for April. What she didn't know was that things were going to get a lot better from here on out. Her life continued as usual. She hung out with friends, went to her classes, did her school work, and got pretty good grades. Most of the time anyways.

It was now late october. The leaves were changing, and starting to fall, the weather cooled down, and the weather was just perfect in her eyes. She absolutely loved this weather. Especially when it decided to rain. Then one day she went to her history class. She sat down in her assigned seat right next to her best friends Ashley on one side and Jordan on the other. The bell rang and Mr. Walker was starting class. "Now if you would all take out your notebooks and write down today's bell ringer. Then answer it. I'm going to take attendance. So please be quiet so I can hear people say here." Said Mr. Walker. I was just starting to write down the bell ringer in my notebook and the class room door opened. A boy walked in. I barely glanced up from my notebook to see him. Then i was back to work. I looked up again when Mr. Walker started talking "Class we have a new student I'd like to welcome Luke Everhart. He comes from South High School. And, I would like for all of you to make him feel welcome."

I tried to get back to work but no matter what i just couldn't. All I could do was focus on him. He had dark skin. So, I'm pretty sure he has some mexican in him. But he might be like half or something like that. His eyes were so adorable. They were that really dark puppy brown. He had braces, he was pretty skinny, and he was a little tall but nothing huge. He also seemed kinda shy. As soon as Ashley caught April staring she knew exactly what was happening.
