Nervous, that is one feeling that fits me right now. I am standing in a big room, there are only three candles serving as the light. I look straight ahead. When I was a teenager I had dreamt of this night. However, it was no longer a dream, it was reality.
Scared, another feeling that described me. Why was I scared? There was no reason to be. My mom had gone through this, my sister, and now me. I would be the only one to be scared.
I saw a smile and heard a patting sound. Memories flashed by me and inside my head I clicked my heals three times and said to myself, "Take me back."
~Several months earlier~
My mom tossed me the keys, and my uncle, dad, sister, mom, and I headed out the door. I skipped to the car and hopped in the driver's seat. I waited for them to buckle their seat belts which seemed like eternity. My uncle turned on the radio as soon as I started the car.
"Now let's get to that store before it closes," my uncle said. He came up from Texas just to buy me the newest laptop. We live in a small town in the eastern part of Iowa. I smiled and backed out of the driveway and drove down the street. I turned left and got on Main Street. Main Street was approximately two miles long and the store just happened to be at the other end. I saw a little kid and his mom crossing the street, I stopped and started tapping my fingers on the steering wheel. I just wanted to get to the store and get back home so I could spend more time with my uncle before he leaves tomorrow. I proceeded stepping on the accelerator. When I was in the middle of the intersection I saw a semi truck to my right trying to come to a stop but failing. I harshly pressed the gas peddle trying to get away from what could soon be a terrible accident. I felt a hard shove and the next thing I knew we were rolling.
My uncle grabbed my hand and his face flashed with fear. We stopped; the car was back on all four tires. I realized my sister was screaming. My vision was blurred for a moment. When I could finally see I saw an orange and red light coming off the hood of the vehicle. Panic rushed into me and the adrenalin rush began. I looked around the car. My mom and dad had only a little blood rushing from their heads. My sister, I could tell, had a dislocated shoulder and a broken leg. She was sitting in the worst spot, the middle seat. My eyes quickly moved to my uncle. We hadn't let go of each others hand. His head was facing to the right and slumpt over. The air bags on his side of the car had gone off, but not mine. I took my other hand and quickly turned his face to me. I stopped breathing and shrieked. His face was almost completely covered in blood and his neck was broken. I unbuckled my seat belt and tried opening my door. It refused and I saw firemen racing towards us.
