Alana's POV:

I let out a loud sigh as my body reacted harshly to the sound of my alarm; Slapping the button for it shut up. I rolled over, suddenly my body fell off the edge of my bed and it collided with the cold wooden floor. "Of course..." I groaned as I got on my hands and knees as I struggled to stand...I was always weak in the morning. Finally I leaned against the door frame that led to my bathroom, letting out a yawn as I groggily stretched and walked in. I looked at my top bun that hovered over my forehead since it probably got messed up when I was sleeping and rolling in my sheets. I pinched the hair tie out, letting my long hair drop to my body that was dressed in a grey hoodie and pink shorts. I guided my hands to my glasses and placed them on; Thank god my mother let me use contacts- oh and I got my braces off during the summer! I smiled as I looked at my pearly white and straight teeth.

I did what I usually do in the morning; Brush my teeth, put my contacts in, comb my hair and straighten in, lightly apply make up and finally pick out my clothes for another day in hell- I mean High School. I think this year might be different, because last year I was that ugly dork girl who was paid to do the most popular and attractive guy in schools home work.

This year is different, I'm skinnier, I have no glasses, I have no braces, I don't wear clothes that look like my grandmas and finally I am going to be more confident...well, at least try. I picked out my clothes which included some high waist denim jeans, a navy loose tank top, some black converse and my hair in a fishtail braid on the side. I smiled at my look before grabbing my floral back pack and my iPhone.

"Sweet heart, you're 17 years old you shouldn't be so slow at getting ready! Aren't you use to you're alarm clock waking you up and you getting-" I rolled my eyes and just blocked out the rest of my mother's blabbering; She always did this. "Alright, alright! Sorry I just wanted to look good today" I smiled as I got to the bottom of the stairs, I quickly kissed her cheek and ran outside so I wouldn't miss the bus...which luckily I didn't! I looked for an empty seat and found one next to a brunette who was on her phone.

"Is this seat taken?" I asked as nice as I could, she just looked up and grinned before shaking her head "Nope!" She exclaimed popping the 'p'. I smiled as I sat next to her, she tucked her phone away in her jacket pocket and turned her body to me "I'm Danielle Pattison- You?". "I- ugh, I'm Alana Edwards" She gripped my hand and shook it roughly, ow? "I haven't seen you around before...are you new here?" Of course she'd say that..."Actually no I've been going to this school for 3 years" She just frowned and I shrugged.

"Oh sorry...I guess I'm just really not observent to people around me!" She giggled and turned her body to the front but then she asked me a random question "Do you know the Brooks twins?" I cringed but I tried to hide my goosebumps from my arms.

"Ugh, y-yeah. Why do you ask?" I said raising an eyebrow, she just shrugged and turned her attention back to her phone "Their just really attractive- Except their massive players. I heard Jai doesn't date and Luke only dates for like a month!" She frowned and stood up. I didn't notice that the bus had stopped since we were at school, I apologized and quickly stood up. Taking my bag and flipped it over my shoulder, I walked off the bus and sighed.

"And the nightmare begins" I heard Danielle whisper beside me which caused me to giggle, she smirked and walked beside me into the school- Wait, did I just make a friend who doesn't think I'm a nerd? Sadly we had to separate and go to our different home rooms.

I walked in and noticed who I had- Luke Brooks. I gritted my teeth and sat in the back left corner, hoping that we get our time tables quickly so I can go to first period and not have a class with him! I read over my time table and smiled what I had first; English. Once the bell rang I quickly hurried to my first class so I could avoid the teacher's breath- Yes, I could smell it from the back of class...it smelt like tuna. I entered my English class and noticed I was the last to enter. What? How?

"Sorry, I guess I just got lost" The teacher smiled and nodded "Yes, yes it's fine. Please just take an empty seat" He pointed to the empty seat at the back. I looked around and saw I didn't have Danielle or the Brooks twins, thank you god. I took my seat next to someone who I couldn't see the face of; He had his arms folded onto the desk and his arms dumped in them.

As Mr...Mr. Stripe? Weird name. Anyway, as Mr. Stripe started to speak the guy beside me shot his head up and sunk in his seat. It was then I realized who it was; The one and only devil himself...Jai Brooks. I wanted to cry! I had homeroom with Luke and I had English with Jai...what could be better? ANYTHING!

I tried my best to avoid eye contact with him but that didn't work out since he turned to look at me. "Hey, do you have a spare pen?" I glanced over to see his face playing a smirk, I actually didn't have a pen and if I did- I wouldn't give it to him.

"Um, no sorry" I simply said but that's not the answer he wanted. "Hm" I watched as he leaned closer to me, I looked up to hope to see if the teacher would yell at him but the teacher wasn't in class. I furrowed my eyebrows, focusing on my work "Can you please move back" I said through gritted teeth.

He just chuckled and I could feel his warm breath on my neck, "Well, you can always just give me yours" I turned my head which was NOT a good choice. Our lips were centimeters apart and my eyes met with his chocolate ones.

I went over my plan for this year; Be more confident and hate the Brooks twins more than I already do. I let my lips curve into a smirk, and I held up my pen "Oh, but then how will I do work?" I pouted which made his own smirk disappear. He just shrugged, "Fine, keep the pen. I actually lied; I never do my work" I watched him chuckle and I squinted at him "Then how do succeed in High school" I stated as I wrote down the answers on the sheet of paper.

"I pay others to do it for me" That made me clench onto my pen but I quickly calmed down, "Oh, so why did you ask me for a pen then?" I asked turning back to him. "Maybe I just wanted to talk to you" He eyed me up and down, I just rolled my eyes and looked at the clock. Ring god damn it! Jai came closer to me again, I tried to lean back but I knew I would fall in my chair "What's wrong with wanting to talk to such a pretty face?" His face was yet again close to mine. Dangerously close! I bit my lip and I sat their frozen.

Please don't do anything stupid! He played a smirk again and I just wanted to slap that smirk off his damn good looking face! Okay, people who say that his face isn't gorgeous is wrong. I hated it but it was gorgeous. I gulped but he quickly fell back into place when the bell echoed through out the class room. I sighed in relief and quickly got my stuff to head to my locker. That was the longest first period, ever!
