Chapter Two
Seating here in the principal's office was honestly a bore. It was the usual blabber about me needing to pay attention to my school work and not fall asleep in class. I honestly just blocked Principal Emerson out on everything he said. It was something I learned to do on the many times I came here for sleeping in Mrs. Davidson's class throughout the school year.
Good Girl my ass. (Stupid Dylan!!)
I was about to close my eyes and go to sleep, but I heard a loud noise.
"MS. HARRISON ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING?!?" Principal Emerson shouted, smacking his hands on his desk. Why is everyone yelling at me today?!?
"Yes, Mr. Emerson." I opened my eyes and shot up.
"Good." He said.
"Now Auguste, you are a good student. You get good grades and are always here on time, but you don't apply yourself to any school activities." He said to me.
"Wait. I thought we were talking about me sleeping in Mrs. Davidson's class?" I said looking confused. This is what I get for not paying attention.
"We still are, I was just thinking instead of giving you a detention, you'll just have to do one of the school's activities, instead." He told me.
Ugh, I honestly hated that word coming out of his mouth. School activities. I never liked school activities. They equaled people and people equaled asshats and bimbos doing flips and catching balls. Which I really wasn't into being apart of.
"Please sir, can't I just get the detention." I begged with pleading eyes.
"No Miss. Harrison, I really think this opportunity will benefit you to make some new friends and enjoy the high school experience." He told me.
"High school is overrated, sir." I told him with a bored look.
"It can also get you into a good college." Now that brightened my eyes. I know I sound like a nerd, but I would honestly do anything to get into NYU next year. That was my dream school and if it took suffering a few months after school with irrelevant people, then I would do it.
"Ughh fine, what do I have to do?" I asked while leaning my head back on my chair and letting out an exaggerated grunt.
"You can either be a cheerleader or be a mathlete. Those are the only two school activities that have tryouts tomorrow." He told me.
Those were both the worst school activities Principal Emerson could give me. I'm horrible at math and I don't have as much as an ounce of school spirit in me.
Which made my next words unbelievable.
"I know I'm gonna regret this, but I'll sign up for the cheerleading team." I said with a huge sigh.
"Great! Practice will be after school tomorrow at 4:00 and bring some comfortable clothes to change in," He told me,"Oh and Auguste, please tell me you'll show some school spirit in your tryouts."
I smirked at Principal Emerson."I can't make any promises."
He gave me a short laugh and told me I could leave. I walked down the hallways and went into the parking lot. I walked up to my jet black Grand Torino that I loved so much. It was literally my baby. No one could ride him but me and I always made sure that my stupid twin brothers didn't make a dent in him or breath their hormonal air on my precious baby either.
