"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Luna, happy birthday to you!" My friends sang around me, cheering as I blew out the candles.

"Well done on surviving 16 years, Luna!" Hayley cheered in the typical fashion of an sugar high teenager.

"Yeah, too bad you won't survive tonight." Andrew laughed. "You'll be scared to death by the ghost mooooovies." He teased, shaking me.

"Remember last year? She hid behind Eva's arm for most of the movie!" Thomas replied. I glared at him, noticing the few glares we were getting from the other people in the restaurant. A waitress came to get the cake, promising to cut it for us. The table was full of excited chattering, mostly directed at me.

"How does it feel to be 16, Luna?" Hayley asked, smiling brightly. I shrugged, glancing around at all of our friends.

"Not really special. I mean, you guys have all had your sixteenth birthdays, aren't you over it?" I asked. Hayley laughed at me, patting my head.

"No way! You're like my little sister, and you're adorable!" She chirped, ruffling my hair.

"A, I am ten months younger than you. B, just because you're the oldest in the group does not give you the right to mess up my hair." I frowned, blindly trying to fix my hair.

Eva, who was sitting two seats away, noticed. "It's fine, Lun-" She cut herself off when something outside caught her eye, causing us to all look the way she was looking. "Is that a TARDIS?" She asked, pointing to a blue box that was scarily similar.

"It looks like it..." I replied, scrutinising the TARDIS look-alike. Suddenly the cake came back over, distracting my friends, but I kept watching the blue box, trying to find a flaw. It seemed to be fading before my eyes, surprising me. I watched it carefully as it flashed between invisible and transparent, then it was gone.

"Hey Luna, the inside of the cake is the same colour of your earmuffs!" Grace commented, bringing your attention away from the disappearing box.

"Cool!" I replied, bringing the said earmuffs from around my neck and up to my ears.

Little did I know that my birthday was the start of something much bigger.
