an array of voices gradually awaken him up from the blackout. massaging his temples, jungkook was still feeling a little dazed but with the help of someone, he eventually was able to get up from the ground groggily.
sitting up still, his dark, brown eyes scanned every corner of the room, taking in the surroundings in case he needed to report his location to anyone, until the figure next to him then waved her hand in front of him to capture his attention.
"officer jeon", she muttered again and this time, jungkook turned around to face her. a wave of relief washed upon him as soon as he saw her face and reflexively, he pulled her into a tight embrace, securing his arms around her as he gently caressed her hair.
"dahae-ssi, you are alright", whispered jungkook in a soft gentle voice and quickly holding onto her small hands, he had wanted to lead her to the emergency exit when dahae forcefully pulled him back down.
"andwae, we can't get out of here," "why so?"
dahae gulped before she replied,
"just... not yet,"
jungkook furrowed his brows at her reply. all he knew was that they have to escape before the boys head back and also, he've got to track the little boy down as well. he couldn't let anyone get hurt in this process and remembering clearly that jimin had told him before that he was left with not much time, jungkook grew even more anxious now.
getting up onto his feet, he walked towards a door and tried to prance it open when dahae quickly rushed over to his side to stop him.
"officer jeon, stop doing that. i told you that it's not time yet," "but we're only left with three minutes now!" "exactly!" "we have to leave!"
"no!", dahae shouted and flinging jungkook's arms away from the door, she then fought him back down onto the ground, leaving jungkook utterly speechless by her act.
with his gaze still fixed on her, jungkook watched her closely as she then proceeded on to some corner before appearing back with the bag of lamb skewers she had bought from the ahjumma initially.
raising his eyebrow at her, jungkook asked jokingly,
"you even managed to hide that after being kidnapped?"
this made dahae break into a smile and offering one to jungkook, she then told him,
"be patient alright?"
jungkook didn't answer her. he sat still and stared into one corner, trying his best to piece things up when dahae spoke again.
"you don't have to worry, they won't hurt daebak,"
jungkook glanced up at her, arching his brows yet again.
"who's daebak?" "my brother. the one who had been following you around for the past few hours,"
jungkook was just about to eat his lamb skewer when he almost choked on his own saliva at dahae's statement. clearing his throat, his face then turned serious at dahae right after.
"you mean he's your biological younger brother?" "yeap," "but he told me that he was keeping watch from the outside," "yea.." "but why would you let someone who lives with you be left outside?"
silence.
"and you told him to only seek help from me?"
silence.
the more questions jungkook asked her, the more astounded he became. he was in fact dying for more answers now and eyeing dahae suspiciously, he knew that something was just not quite right here. immediately, jungkook got up onto his feet and pointing his lamb skewer at the girl in front of him, he suddenly demanded out of her,
"lee dahae, just exactly what role are you playing right here?"
this sentence of his caught dahae off guard but keeping her calm as she stood up too, dahae acted normally by taking a bite off from the meat she was holding on to.
"hmm... it seemed like the meat has turned cold --" "drop this act of yours,"
jungkook ordered sternly and right at that moment, the door to the room drew open.

right ahead, jimin could be seen holding on to a lighter and following behind him, the rest soon came into view one by one.
"daebak-ie?", muttered jungkook as he then caught the little boy riding on hoseok's shoulders.
rubbing his nape sheepishly, jungkook was extremely confused as to what was going on now until slowly, yoongi made his way all the way to the front and commented,
