I moved the queen, and let out a victory sigh, "that's checkmate."

"Congrats Sienna," Alex started gathering the game pieces to the left side of the board.

We'd always played chess here, we were the chess club after all. Our club room was scrubby and dusty. A few bookshelves and a few tables, nothing fancy. But still, I definitely hoped someone was not using these tables for banging. They'd get sick or something, nothing but dust on these.

"Hey Sienna, I'll call Drake next time, do you think he can beat you?"

"Beats me." I looked over my shoulder with a smile. "I'll see you around, Alex."

Sienna. I had an unusual name, a very beautiful one. Unlike myself. I was a pimpled girl with glasses, and a bit fat too. Sam could always get better at chess, but I'd always lose in the face and body departments.

I left the club room and let myself into the girls room. I used to spend hours against the mirror, imagining how my face would look like without the pimples. But somewhere along the line, I had somehow stopped caring.

That was why I never had a serious relationship, because I knew, if I dated someone, I'd just be used for sex and thrown away like a piece of trash. No one would have me forever. I wouldn't have me.

"Of course that's where you were," Emma neared and grabbed me by the arm, "we're talking something big, come on." She started dragging me along, I didn't even look where we were going.

She took me to the cafeteria. It was a huge place with tens of tables and a loud rumbling sound which was everyone's voices mingled together.

It'd be hard to find Alice and Kathrine in the crowd, or so I thought.

"There they are," Emma yelled and pulled me right up to them.

Alice was sitting next to Kathrine, she swished her long blonde hair at me, "Don't go running off on us, no." She pointed an index finger upwards, "I can't allow such insolence go unpunished."

Alice usually acted as if she was some movie character. But she was way too gorgeous, so no one thought she was weird.

"So, what's my punishment?" I rolled my eyes.

"You're joining us at Andy's place tonight," Alice took my hand, "I can't let you stay home every day. You're a young girl, do what you're supposed to. Get out there and have some fun with us."

Young girl huh? I wonder what's the difference between a young girl and a woman in her thirties. Is it the physically the beauty of a young body, or is it mentally the mind of a youth? I definitely don't have the first, any boy would choose an older woman over me. But what about the second? I'm always so casual like an old person, I never had the cheerful spirit. But I tend to get overly obsessed with my looks, maybe that's the young Sienna inside me, deep down, giving her last breaths.

"Ouch," I felt a pinch on my arm.

"What're you doing staring at the table like an idiot, answer me. You're coming right? I don't want any excuses." Alice let go of her pinch.

"I don't wanna," I made a sad face, "it'll be nothing but testosterone over there. You guys go ahead and have fun." I really didn't want to go there, I knew what would happen, they'd start dancing their booties, I'd sit at the very end, trying to go unnoticed. But they'd still find me, boys asking me to hook them up with Alice. It was hard being the friend of a most gorgeous girl.

"Stop being a pain," Kathrine pulled me by the shirt, "you don't wanna get on my bad side, you know that, don't you?" She smiled at me like a psychopath. Then she checked her cigarettes, "My precious cuties," she said with lifted eyebrows, "only two left." How come a small roll of toxic stuff got better treatment than me. I was also a toxic human being, I wanted similar treatment!

"You really love your rolls," I sighed.

Kathrine had black hair, eyes, and dark makeup. She looked like a total psycho. Actually, I just now realized, I was in a very weird group of people. But they had perfect bodies and faces, so I guess that was okay.

I thought I was blessed with a mind, but not with a heart.

But I was proven wrong on March 23, the day I met up with the girls

mother kissed me on the cheek. "We'll be going to the town council meeting. Did you know, the Mayor invited us himself."

Oh how I wished I could go with them, those meetings were held in Mayor's villa, and there'd always be fragrant, elegant dishes of different cuisines. My favorite was the roasted duck served with oranges. The orange slices had smoothed the salt and yielded a mellow taste, and a pleasant smell.

           "Have fun darling."

"You have fun." I frowned and shut the door, they knew I wanted to go with them.

"Tell your friends I said hi," she yelled after me.

I reached Andy's Place after a walk. It was a place where teenagers had dealt with their hormones. I saw Kathrine right away, dancing like crazy in the middle, shaking her booty under the rolling colorful ball that all discos have. I also noticed an empty chair at the very end. Perfect. That was my spot.

"Come, dance with us." Alice tried, but no. I wasn't cut out for that sort of thing. I couldn't make a fool out of myself.

After a few glasses of water, I saw Zack Earl walking towards me. He had the gorgeous looks, I'd give him that much. Everything about him was black, all clothes, hair, eyes. Kind of like Kathrine actually. He was the popular guy, of course he would be.

He looked so hot to me, I guess that was the youth inside me doing her thing. Or the hormones. But still, I didn't want to care about the looks, and I hated guys like him.

No, please turn right, not this way.

"Hey there, got a minute?"

Damn, he got me. I didn't want to hook up any of my friends with this douchebag.

           "Is it Kathrine or Alice?"

"Oh, so you know your role, that's convenient," he smirked and sat opposite me.

"Why'd you sit down, I don't plan to talk to you for long."

"Neither of them, it's you that I want." He dropped the smirk for some reason. Wait, is he serious?

There is a plot twist coming in the second chapter. Sienna will change.
