My bag lands on the ground with a hard thud. I wince and hope it wasn't loud enough for my mom and dad to hear it. I swing one leg out my second story bedroom window and feel around for a good foothold. I find one on the drainpipe on the side of the house and then swing my other leg out. I shimmy down quietly and jump down onto the ground. Quickly, I look around quick and pick up my bag and run across the street to the car parked on the side of the road.

"Look at that. Goody two shoes Robbins snuck out" my friend Courtney jokes. We met when we both moved to the base about a year ago and were instant best friends.

"Oh shut up" I say and put my seatbelt on.

"Ready?" She asks and I nod my head. We are going to see a band that's in the area and the only way we could go is if we snuck out. We drive through the quiet streets and towards the exit of the base. We get to the checkpoint and we recognize the officer who is working tonight.

"Hey Ralph" Courtney says.

"What's up kiddo? Oh hey Zona, didn't see you." I snort a bit because I don't like when people call me Zona.

"Hey Ralph" I mumble and wave.

"So where are you two headed to?" He asks.

"Just a late night ice cream run" Courtney lies. That's our go to excuse for when we sneak out.

"Don't you guys have ice cream at home?" He asks.

"It's not the same" I joke.

"You got a point. Ok well have fun and be safe" he says and waves us through. We drive past the speed bump and out onto the road.

"How did that guy get through Basic? He's dumber than a box of rocks" I laugh.

"Your guess is as good as mine" Courtney laughs and we drive into the night. I've never snuck into a bar with a fake id so I'm a little nervous. We drive for a bit and then Courtney pulls into a parking lot and finds a place to park. I look at the building and think that this looks like a stereotypical bar. Neon signs and graffiti on the walls make it look like a sketchy place. Courtney parks the car and checks her makeup quick. She unbuckles and looks at me.

"Ready?" She asks and gives me a sly smirk. I smile back and unbuckle. We both walk to the door and spot the bouncer. As we walk up to him, he crosses his arms and steps in front of the door.

"IDs" he says in a burly voice. We dig in our purses and pull two fake IDs out and hand them to the bouncer. He inspects them for a bit and then hands them back. He steps aside and opens the door for us. "Enjoy the show". Courtney struts the through the door and I follow sheepishly behind her. I can already feel the bass pumping against my chest. I grab Courtney by the shoulder and pull her ear towards me.

"If we get separated, meet me by the bathrooms!" I yell because it's already too loud to talk in a normal voice. She gives me a thumbs up and makes her way through the crowd. I try to follow her but she's already a few steps ahead. I try my best and somehow make it next to her. We are pretty close to the stage so she did a good job. The band starts to play and we are screaming and singing and jumping along. About an hour through the show, my bladder is about to burst. I motion to Courtney that I have to pee and she nods her head and keeps singing to the music. I snake through the crowd and head towards the bathroom. Of course, there's a line a mile long. I find the back and step in behind a tall, dark haired girl with tattoos up her arm. I impatiently lend against the wall and tap my foot. The girl glances behind her and I get a peek of her face. She's really pretty, hot even. She's wearing a black leather jacket and tight black jeans that make her butt look really good. I stand in line for what feels like forever before the line moves a foot. As I wait, a loud, drunk  group of guys stumble past the line. They are are joking around and one of the idiots spills his beer all of over . I'm so embarrassed that I just don't move. The girl turns around and gives me a sympathetic look. She notices that I'm embarrassed so she takes my hand and leads me across the bar and through a door that opens to a hallway. She lets go of my hand and I follow her down the hallway to a room on the left. The room is filled with nothing but a couch littered with beer cans and a sink and mirror in the corner.
