"And finally, Top of her class for the 100th Medical Trauma unit, CLARKE GRIFFIN!"
A deafening applause came from the audience as Clarke slowly rose from her metal chair, and walked toward her Commander, Marcus Kane.
A smile curled at the edge of her lips and she blushed as she heard her mother Abby screaming like a maniac in the first row.
Clarke stopped a few inches from Marcus, bringing her clean white glove to her forehead.
"Sir." she smiled.Marcus nodded, smiling as well. He reached to his side a retrieved an incredibly cheesy certificate, and placed it in Clarkes hand.
"And for finishing top of her class..." He turned around and waved his hand, summoning another soldier with a rack of medals.
Clarkes eyes widened, feeling in awe her jaw fell to the floor, she let out a chuckle and shyly looked down.
Marcus retrieved a medal and held it out to Clarke.
Bowing, Clarke felt the soft straps Being placed around her neck, and heard the slightest clink of medal as her award hit her other badges placed around her black uniform.Clarke saluted once more, giving Marcus a hard nod before returning to her seat next to Bellamy Blake, class second and her best friend.
Even in uniform Blake was secretly rebelling with his black and curly unkempt head of hair.
His dark brown eyes sparkled with excitement and a grin spread across his face.
Clarke smiled back and turned to Marcus."Ladies and gentlemen, THE 100th REGIMENT!!!" Marcus clapped which was followed by caps of medical students being thrown into the air.
"We did it princess." Blake chuckled. Bellamy stood and embraced Clarke in a suffocating hug.
All of a sudden Clarke was blinded by a white light. Looking over, she saw her friend (class fifth) Raven, snapping a picture.
Clarke pulled away from Bellamy and ran over to raven, snatching her cap from her head.
"You little bitch!" Clarke playfully shrieked, punching Raven in the shoulder.
"What are friends for?" Raven snatched her cap back.
"Oh look at this." a voice snickered from behind Clarke.
She knew that annoying, snarky voice anywhere."Murphy." she rolled her eyes.
"Oh C'mon princess, this is probably one of the few happy days we have coming uo for a while, best enjoy it."Confused Clarke narrowed her brows.
"Oh don't bring us into your depressed life." Bellamy slapped Murphy's shoulder, sending him almost stumbling over. " Who knows maybe a hospital will take you in as a charity case!"Raven burst out laughing, even Clarke chuckled.
Murphy glanced at Bellamy annoyed."Actually," Murphy reached into his black uniform pants and took out a folded piece of paper, " welcome to my miserable life."
Bell smiled, but Clarke was really confused now.
She watched as Bellamy's face dropped as he read the letter."Bell?" Raven shoved him playfully, "Whats up?"
Bellamy looked up directly to Clarke, who wasn't smiling anynore.
Clarke stepped foward placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Bellamy?"Murphy snatched the paper back.
"As we can see here Bell Boy here is too lost for words."Murphy extended the letter to Clarke.
"Pack your bags kids, we deploy at the end of the week."
* * * *
Clarke placed the iron softly against her black uniform. Steam hissing into the air.
