Psi's headache had finally gone away and his body felt less battered than it had several hours ago. He found himself growing restless, sitting around in the infirmary for so long. He pulled himself to his feet, thrilled to find that he could walk without much trouble. Sure, his stomach would churn every so often, and a dull ache returned to his head, but other than that, he felt much better.
He was hungry again. He was always hungry. He hadn't gotten dinner with the others, he was too busy talking to Indigo. After that, all he'd wanted to do was go back to bed. He'd had full intentions of meeting up with the others for dinner when he left the room, but as he made his way through the airship, he found himself back in the infirmary. He decided to take that as a sign, and dragged himself back onto his bed. But his hunger grew unbearable.
He made his way to the door and pushed out into the hall. He walked down the hall, glad to find that his leg bore his weight much better than it had several hours before. He remembered the way to the entry hall perfectly, and was there in a matter of minutes. There was no one around, but they had left some of the food in the corner of the room. Psi sat down and grabbed the closest thing he could before peeling away the wrapping and shoving it into his mouth. It tasted like a granola bar, but he really didn't know what it was, nor did he care. He finished it in seconds and grabbed another, then another, then another. He finally felt full after eating at least seven of the things. He pulled himself back up to his feet and was immediately hit in the head by something above him.
"Ow!" he blurted, hunching over and putting his hand on the back of his head. A panel overhead had opened and a small ladder had tumbled down, hitting him as he stood up. He gazed up at the small opening left by the open hatch, before pulling himself up the ladder. After a moment, he found himself in another corridor, not quite identical to the one below him, but close. The only difference was the vast window that allowed Psi to gaze as far as he could see into the never ending darkness outside. He glanced around a moment, before noticing a sliver of light coming from underneath a door. He made his way down the hall and gingerly pushed the door open. Inside, Indigo and Eve had placed themselves on the counter of a small kitchen, and both glanced up when Psi entered.
"Everything okay up here, ladies?" he asked. "Can I come in?"
"Of course," Eve said, gesturing for him to come over. Indigo didn't look up from her hands, which were curled up in her lap.
"Everything okay up here, ladies?" Psi repeated, more cautiously this time.
Indigo still didn't look up, but nodded. "Everything's fine, Psi."
"I don't think I've met you yet," Eve said, putting her hand out to him. "My name is Eve."
"Psi. Nice to meet you."
"Are you feeling any better, Psi?" Indigo asked, finally looking up from her hands.
He nodded. "I ended up not having dinner, and I got hungry so I got up to find some food. But then your ladder hit me in the head and here I am."
"I thought we put that away so that wouldn't happen," Indigo said, looking to Eve, who shrugged.
"Oh well," Indigo continued. "No use worrying about it now. You haven't seen Milo by any chance, have you?"
"Can't say I have. Can I ask why?"
"I'm just wondering if he came out of his room yet, that's all."
"Not that I saw. Then again, I didn't really look around for anybody..."
"Don't you think we should all get together and make a plan? Are we really just running into this blindly?" Eve asked.
