Chapter 2

The silence was killing me. I could hear the soft music playing in the background. You see, when I and Misha came back and were seen by almost all the rich people in the country in a not so good condition, our mother was furious. Although she didn't show it in front of all the people, I could see it in her eyes. She put a small, dreadful smile on her lips and said "Don't mind us, we're going to be back in a second. Resume the ball."

So here we are, in her room and like I said... The silence was killing me.

I wanted to say something, anything... But I wasn't a fool. If one word came out of my mouth, I knew that the next thirty minutes will be the worst thirty minutes of my life. I think Misha didn't realize that fact as she said,

"You see mother, I and Renesmee were just - "

"Quiet.", mother said in such a low voice that I thought that I imagined her saying this.

"Explain Renesmee.", she said.

"W-we were in t-the.. The.. The.."

"My room!"

"The garden!"

I shot Misha a look. Why? Why did she have to open her big mouth?

"Oh I see. So you were in your room and in the garden AT THE SAME TIME."

I flinched. I mean... Who wouldn't? It was scary when my mother shouted. She usually didn't, but when she did she looked like a damn bull in charge.

"We're sorry mother.", I said.

"Oh you better be. Do you know how many people..."

And that is when I zoned her out. She was again giving us the "you must be married soon" speech. I was sixteen when she first started doing that. At first, I thought that this time will pass and mother will be her normal self again. But, oh boy, was I wrong.

"- Can you believe it! Even he was there. He saw you like this! How am I ever going to explain this to his family and not to mention, all the other families!"

Finally! She ended her speech.

"Can we go?", Misha asked in a bored tone. She was checking her nails, trying to get rid of the nail paint by scratching them.

Mother shot her a look which would've shut her up only if she was even looking at her.

"She means, we are really sorry mother. We didn't know that this would happen. We will now go to our rooms and dress up like fine ladies and attract as many princes as possible." I quickly said. Whenever we were in a situation like this, I would use these very lines. I have learnt them and luckily they convince my mother ever single time.

"You girls better hurry up and Misha, don't make the mistake of wearing the tomboy hat this time. You are already in a lot of trouble and we will talk about your punishment afterwards. For now, go dress up.", my mother said in a sharp tone and left the room.

As soon as she left, Misha looked at me. We both looked at each other for a few seconds and then burst out laughing.

"We're doing this again next year.", Misha said when we finally calmed down.

"At least we made grandma happy ", I smiled.

Now, you will be wondering why we were in the forest in the first place. Well, you see... Today is my grandma's death anniversary. Every year, at night... We (Misha and me) visit a special place where she used to tell us stories when we were children. We both lay down on the ground, watch the stars and tell her about all of the things that are happening in our lives.
