I dreamt of you.

I dreamt you took me by surprise and lifted me off my feet.

You kissed my forehead and told me I looked as beautiful as the last time you saw me, with my little black dress and red lips.

I dreamt that you smiled at me and told me, I'm going to steal you.

I asked, with a coy smile, and where would you take me?

You grinned and replied, somewhere only we know.

I raised my eyebrow. And if I so happen to decline your generous offer?

There was that glint in your eye, as you kissed me softly. It wasn't an offer, silly girl.

And with a shriek and a laugh, you carried me away,

And sat me down on that black leather seat, smiling.

Where are we going? I asked with a smile.

You told me, you'll see.

You drove off into the day,

And we left our worries in the dust.

I stole kisses as you drove,

Past the cities and the tall glass buildings that loomed over us.

We sped past the asphalt and the concrete,

And soon we were greeted,

With white sand and endless waters

And a house, tall and lonely.

But it was a house that I loved, and a home that we knew.

We stole away onto the rooftops,

Champagne bottle in one hand,

And the other in yours.

Nothing made me happier in that moment,

Than to have you beside me,

Smiling down at me with those welcoming brown eyes,

Those chocolate curls spilling onto the blanket,

And your trusting arms around me.

We were so happy.

I remember how warm your chest was against my ear,

As I lay to listen to the rhythm of your heart.

I remember how soft your lips were,

As we kissed at sunset, the sky a blazing orange,

As we embraced each other,

And enjoyed each other's company.

The stars are beautiful tonight.

They take up after you.

You're so original.

It was quiet for a long time.

But the silence was filled with smiles and soft giggles.

I ran my fingers along your cheek,

and they came to run over your lips.

You planted a kiss on each one,

And one on my lips.

You.

I choose you.

All of you.

I chose you a long time ago, love. What took you so long?

You laughed, and we kissed.

And we fell asleep under the silver stars,

Fingers intertwined and foreheads touching,

With smiles on our lips and content in our hearts.

I dreamt of you.

I dreamt that you loved me the way that I loved you.

And it was beautiful.

But it was only a dream.
